Devan (Jayaram), a meek, honest farmer and the village darling, gets into trouble with the local hoodlum, Ripper (Riyaz Khan), and runs away to Pollachi with his friend Dasan (Jagathi) in tow. There he meets his look-alike Pazhani (Jayaram), who is the exact opposite of Devan in character. Upon persuasion from Dasan, Palani and Devan agree to switch places, and various comic and chaotic situations ensue.
Retd. Station Master Raghavan Nair's two sons, Prabhakaran (Sreenivasan) and Prakashan (Jayaram) belong to opposing political parties. Prabhakaran is a communist, whilst Prakashan is a right-winger. They quibble all the time over political issues, and although Raghavan Nair is initially impressed by what he assumes to be his sons' political knowledge and leadership capabilities, soon it turns to despair and anger, when he sees his family suffer in his sons' sibling rivalry.
Balakrishnan (Mukesh) who is sick and has a heart disease, gets a heart transplant from a man (Aby Mathew) who died in a recent car accident. Mohanachandran (Jayaram), although a lawyer by profession, does all sorts of odd jobs to support his large-sized family. He is engaged to marry Sujatha (Sukanya), a local school teacher. Devaprabha (Manju Warrier) and her grandfather Ramavarma Thampuran (Babu Swamy), of the royal bloodline and who has a mansion in the same village, comes for a short visit. Devaprabha, who has been mentally ill after her brother's death, finds solace in Mohanachandran, which troubles his fiancée Sujatha.
The unmarried Meleparambil brothers Jayakrishnan (Jagathi Sreekumar), Gopikrishnan (Vijayaraghavan) & Harikrishnan (Jayaram) live in fear of their father who insists that they can marry only those who meet his strict terms. Harikrishnan gets a job in Pollachi where he meets Pavizham (Shobana) & after a lot of hassle, marries her. Fearful of his family, he sneaks Pavizham into his house as a maid servant. But now, he has to deal with the amorous advances of his brothers & uncle, towards Pavizham.
When Unnikrishnan (Jayaram), although highly educated, finds it difficult to get a teaching job, he applies for the job of a private detective with a firm called Secret Files. As a trainee, he is asked to find out the details of Arundathi Nair (Rohini), the daughter of a rich businessman Ananthapadmanabhan (Sukumaran), as part of a marriage proposal investigation. Little did he know that two other trainees are also on the case - Oomen Koshy (Jagathy Sreekumar) & Premshankar (Manian Pillai Raju).
When, even after 2 years since the murder of the aristocrat Udaya Varma of Chithirapuram palace & his wife, the police hadn't caught the culprit nor located their missing son Mohana Varma (Madhupal), & the remaining relatives of the palace fighting for ownership of the palace, the court appoints lawyer Ananthapadmanaban (Jayaram) as the receiver of the palace. He, along with his sidekick & clerk Urumees (Jagathi Sreekumar) moves to the palace, but faces trouble with Udaya Varma's relatives.
American return Vishnu G. Menon (Jayaram), with friend Thomasukutty (Jagathy Sreekumar) in tow, drives drunk & knocks down lineman Thankappan (Krishnan Kutty Nair). Hearing about his death, they feel guilty & decides to help Thankappan's family. Vasudev (Jagadish), an accident claims lawyer, has taken up Thankappan's case & is after the car which knocked him down. Meanwhile, Vasudev & Vishnu, both get attracted to Thankappan's eldest daughter, Sreedevi (Sunitha), & competes to get her attention.
Haridas (Jayaram) comes to Trivandrum to join a new job promised by politician K. P. (Krishnan Kutty Nair) & finds that he was duped by the politician & that the job has been taken by Manu (Suresh Gopi), his old collegemate & the person whom he believes killed his sister Revathy (Parvathi). Haridas, who tries to find a footing in the city, then finds that Manu becomes the cause for his further miseries too - including losing his next job & losing the girl whom he loved, Ammu (Renjini), to Manu.
Hotshot Architect & skirt chaser Prakash Menon (Jayaram) gets transferred to the Cochin branch of 'Builders India', from Trivandrum. This comes as a shock to Anu Pillai (Suchitra Krishnamoorthi), Chief Architect of that branch, because this meant that she had to move to Trivandrum. Not knowing who Anu is, Prakash sees her & likes her. To get close to her, Prakash's friend Mukundan (Jagathy Sreekumar), sets him up as a housecleaner, to look after Anu's apartment & her daughter, Chikku (Shamili).
Sreenivasan (Jayaram), who lead a care-free life with his friends, hesitantly joins the Police force due to family pressure. He gets posted to the village police station of Vadakkekara, where he meets & gets attracted to Chandrika (Urvashi), daughter of Head Constable Parameshwaran (Oduvil Unnikrishnan). While transporting a murder accused, Peter (Mukesh), to the court, he dupes Sreenivasan & escapes. With his job at stake, Sreenivasan goes in search of Peter to Peter's hometown of Chinnankolli.
Malavika (K.P.A.C. Lalitha) of the Kunnathu family has three sons - Sreedharan (Jagathi Sreekumar), Dineshan (Manian Pillai Raju) & Balachandran (Jayaram). The elder two have all girl children, which doesn't bode well with Malavika, who is obsessed with the idea of having a boy in the household. Balachandran falls in love & marries Ambika (Sudharani), but when they too get a girl child, Balachandran is forced to lie about this & pretend that his pal Pappan's (Biju Menon) boy child is his own.
Ben Narendran (Mammootty), who decides to commit suicide because he decided that he was content with life, rescues Janaradhanan aka Janu (Jayaram), who was also about to commit suicide because he murdered someone by mistake. Having learned that Janu is the sole supporter of his family, Ben takes the blame for the murder & gets a life sentence. When Ben gets out on parole, he learns that Janu was killed by corrupt bigwig R. K. Nambiar (Murali), & he decides to bring him & his henchmen to justice.
Puthanpurackal Appukuttan Nair (Thilakan), a superstitious man lives by the words of family astrologer Narayana Panicker (Jagathi), while his son Madhavanunni (Jayaram) lives in the memory of his deceased wife. Madhavanunni later meets, & gets close to Malini (Sithara), who was his childhood friend & they marry soon after, with everyone's blessings. Their happiness is short lived however, when Malini reveals by mistake that her horoscope, upon which their marriage was based on, isn't accurate.
M. Madhava Menon (Thilakan), a powerful politico, destroys the life & family of a young man, Johnson (Kamal Hassan), for having a love affair with his daughter Renu (Urmila Matondkar). Years later, Johnson returns to take revenge on Madhava Menon, now the Chief Minister of Kerala. Using brains rather than brawns, he enlists the help of an apery artist Jayaram (Jayaram), & they start to intercept the CM's radio & TV broadcasts to substitute their own versions, to destroy the CM's political image.
Velayudhankutty (Jayaram), after a failed try to marry his uncle Shankarankutty Menon's (Innocent) daughter Amminikutty (Sitara), leaves for Palani to find an old pal Kunjikhader (Mammukoya) & to get a job. There, the search for Kunjikhader lands him in jail & he loses all his cash. Desperate, he robs Kaalimuthu (Krishnankutty Nair) & but his loot turns out to be a barber's kit, with which he becomes a barber. Later, he lies to Kaalimuthu about being an orphan & Kaalimuthu adopts him as his son.
Gautham Subramaniam (Jayam Ravi), a doctor, few days before his marriage to Shenba (Kangana Ranaut), leaves for Moscow to attend a medical conference. There, Gautham is wrongly accused of the murder of a young model Anna (Maria Kojernikova), & goes on the run with the Russian police & the mafia, both after him. With the help of his defendant laywer Aarthi Chinappa (Lakshmi Rai), Gautham tries to uncover the reasons behind Anna's murder, & to return to India in time for his marriage.

Sugunan (Jayaram), a KSEB overseer, obsessed with electricity & its usage, treats even his family secondary to it. His long suffering wife Bindu (Gopika) struggles to maintain the house & care for him & their daughter Anjana (Niveda), but gets no credit from Sugunan, who thinks Bindu has it easy. Finally, Bindu snaps & goes on a strike by refusing to do any household chores or uxorial duties. Narasimha Mannadiyar (Mammootty), the ruler of the village of Kamakshipuram tries to avenge the death of his younger brother Veerasimha Mannadiyar (Jayaram). Veerasimhan's killer, a criminal don Haider Marakkar, is sentenced to death by the court, but Haider keeps escaping the gallows. A fed-up Narasimha Mannadiyar decides to take matters into his own hands.

They set out to prove their innocence & to find Indu's killer, with the help of Madhavan Thampi.
Sivaprasad aka Sivan (Mohanlal), a communist party worker, gets appointed as the chairman of the Devaswom Board, after being nominated by party leader Shekaran (Soman). When the head priest of the temple Parameshwaran Namboothiri (Thikkurisi ) goes against their corrupt ways, Sivan enlists the help of his best friend Vasu (Jayaram) to frame the priest, after which the priest commits suicide in humiliation. A guilty Vasu turns against the temple corruption causing friction between him & Sivan.
Siddharthan (Jayaram), a KSEB Electrical Engineer, always had a dream of becoming a doctor. When he met Ammukutty (Nadia Moidu), seeing a stethoscope with her, Siddharthan assumed her to be a doctor & married her without inquiring further. After the marriage, Siddharthan gets a rude shock when he learns that Ammukutty is actually a vet. Feeling cheated & ridiculed by his coworkers, Siddharthan takes it all out on Ammukutty, jeopardizing their marriage, much to the sorrow of Siddharthan's family.
Arundhathi Menon (Urvashi) gets pimped by a family friend Brahmadattan (Jayaram), to procure a job for himself. Arundhathi's father kills himself in humiliation & she ends up at a whorehouse. Later, she meets James (Balachandra Menon) & becomes his girlfriend, but loses him to a weak heart. A pregnant Arundhathi is raped by James's friends George (Lalu Alex) & gang, causing a miscarriage, after which she returns to her hometown. There, she meets Balagopalan (Suresh Gopi), her childhood friend.
Arun (Indrajith) & his 2 relations Mahindran (Manoj K. Jayan) & Ganeshan (Shammi), injects Ashwathy (Bhavana), key witness to a murder & lawyer Ramesh Nambiar's (Mammootty) sister, with morphia & rapes her. Karthik (Dileep), Ashwathy's lover & Devan's (Mohanlal) brother, tries to catch them but gets killed. Antony Punnekadan IPS (Suresh Gopi), in charge of the case, arrests Arun but is saved by Ramesh, unaware of what Arun did to his sister. An enraged Devan tries to avenge his brother's death.
Two friends - Sethumadhavan aka Sethu (Jayaram) & Roy (Mukesh) - after trying out various odd jobs, decide to steal, which lands them in jail. After their release, they part ways & Sethu starts working in a tea estate in Sooryagiri, posing as Albert Alex, with Albert's certificates given to him by their friend Chakkunni (Jagathi). When a criminal dies in an accident with Albert's work address in his pocket, cop Isaac Thomas's attention falls on Sethu. Sethu & Roy tries to find the real Albert.
Sunny (Jayaram) & Kariya (Jagadish) join as debt collectors at Pulikkattil Financiers run by Mathew Pulikkadan (Jagathi), where they meet Alice (Urvashi). Sunny falls for Alice & Kariya falls for Alice's sister Annie (Usha) & to marry them, Sunny & Kariya find grooms for their elder sisters - Thommichan (Sukumaran), a lawyer & Williams (Babu Antony), a karate expert. Together, they try to win back the sisters' ancestral property from their evil neighbor Diwakara Panicker who had kicked them out.
Thirumuttathu Kochuthomman (Thilakan) & his youngest son Roy (Jayaram), were more of friends than father & son. Roy whiles away his life pursuing his passion of drama, incurring the wrath of the family, except that of Kochuthomman, who supported him secretly. However, when Roy marries Bhavana (Samyuktha Varma), a poor girl, Kochuthomman kicks Roy out of his house & his life. Roy, abased by this & faced with the sudden prospect of poverty & unemployment, determines to eke out a living on his own.

After his release, after a near-death incident, Parthan develops ESP & also befriends Lord Krishna in the form of Madhavan (Mukesh). Together, they foil radical Musafir's (Kalabhavan Mani) plans to destroy the village temple heritage.
At the behest of marriage broker Chandy (Jagathi), Georgootty's (Jayaram) father (Babu Nampoothiri) gets him married to wealthy Cheerankandath Ittichan's (Thilakan) daughter Alice (Sunitha) by lying about their family's financial position. After learning the truth, an angry Ittichan forces Georgootty to live at his house like a manservant. After getting humiliated for a long time, Georgootty gets tired of his life, & decides to get even with Ittichan with his brains & with the help of his pals.
Circumstances force Ramanujan aka Ram (Jayaram) to share a train coupe & subsequently his apartment, with Jyothi (Soundarya), posing as husband & wife, in Chennai. On the eve of Jyothi's marriage, the groom's family learns of this, leading to the wedding getting called off. Unable to bear the news, Jyothi's father (Nedumudi) gets hospitalized & he gets Jyothi forcibly married to Ram. An angry Jyothi, who assumes that Ram cheated her into this, gives Ram a cold shoulder, after their marriage.
Fed up with his restricted life, Kunjoottan (Sreenivasan), a village simple, runs away to the city with his friend Ramachandran (Jayaram), after stealing money from his father. After their money gets stolen, the cash-stricken duo kidnaps a rich girl Asha (Suparna), & asks her father M.R.C. (Thilakan) for ransom. When they learn that M.R.C isn't Asha's real father & that he is only after her wealth & he wants her dead, Kunjoottan & Ramachandran decide to protect the girl till her 18th birthday.
Padmanabhan Nair (Kalamandalam Kesavan), is the patriarch of the big joint family of Payyarath, where the old matrilinear system of inheritance is still practiced. Into this walks Nair's by-blow & helper Shankunni's nephew, Ramanathan (Jayaram), the son Nair never knew about. Ramanathan forges a deep friendship with Nair & joins Payyarath as a manager. But when later, Nair refuses to publicly accept Ramanathan even after learning the truth, a determined Ramanathan vows to make Nair accept him.
Premachandran aka Preman (Jayaram), a BCom grad, takes up the job of a driver at the house of brothers Kuttan Bava (Narendra Prasad) & younger Kunjan Bava (Rajan P. Dev). When Kuttan's daughter Ammu (Kasturi) & Kunjan's daughter Malu (Sangeetha) makes amorous overtures towards the handsome & educated Preman, he responds to keep his job, but finally resulting in Kuttan & Kunjan fixing his marriage with their respective daughters, not aware of each other's plans, with Preman torn between them.
After introvert Malayalam college lecturer Premachandran (Jayaram) moves into his new house in the housing colony of Santhi Nager, with wife Sulochana (Gautami) & mom (Meena), he is frustrated by Sulochana's adoration towards the ways of gabby socialite neighbor Rajeevan (Siddique) & his public display of affection towards his wife Radhika (Vaishnavi). Taking up his friend Gomas's (Babu Nampoothiri) advise, Premachandran tries to "express" more love towards Sulochana, with disastrous results.
K. Vishwanatha Pillai aka Vishwam (Jayaram), an unemployed grad, comes to Kochi for an interview, but is mistaken for a con artist & arrested. After the S.I. George (Mukesh) turned out to be his college friend, he goes free, but learns that there is a lookalike of his called Uthaman operating in the city, who is a criminal. After getting into various troubles over the resemblance, including losing his new-found job, a frustrated Vishwam sets out on a quest to seek out Uthaman, posing as him.
Self-made businessman Vinayachandra Kurup (Balachandra Menon) is a martinet at work & at home, with his mother (Kaviyoor Ponnamma), wife Vasantha (Geetha), brother Shanthan (Jayaram), uncle Gangadharan (Oduvil Unnikrishnan) & younger sister Sathi (Monisha). When Shanthan marries Beena, Vinayan's steno, without his permission, Vasantha sides with Shanthan, causing discord between Vinayan & Vasantha & leading to her leaving the house. After Girish & Satish declare that they are going to tell Thampi's tale, both families want Cochin Brothers to tell the tale their way.
In a remote hilly village of Kerala, Thampurankunnu, a girl (Shobana) who lost her memory remains the lone survivor of a major bus accident. Dr. Sandhya (Srividya), the owner of the hospital & her son Sarath (Jayaram), the hospital manager, cares for the girl, whom Sarath names Maya. Sarath & Maya slowly fall in love with each other, but on the day of the announcement of their marriage, someone from Maya's past, who claims to be her husband, calls.

There, they assist Joy's uncle Lasar (Jagathi) with painting work at the Marthandam palace, where Aravindan mistakes heiress Padmini (Meena) to be in love with him. Misunderstandings lead to her fixed wedding getting called off & Padmini holds Chandu responsible. Vowing to separate Chandu & Aravindan, Padmini decides to marry Aravindan, to get back at Chandu.

Parallel college lecturers Sujanapalan (Jagadish), Aravindan (Siddique) & Gangan (Raju) gets fed up with their stingy roommate & coworker Gopalakrishnan (Sreenivasan) & play a game on him to make him spend - they write love letters to him pretending as a girl, Radhika (Rekha) & Gopalakrishnan falls head over heels in love with Radhika through the letters. Things gets complicated when Gopalakrishnan tries to meet Radhika in person & marry her, & faces rejection & humiliation in the process.
'Nathu' Narayanan, a small-time thug who does anything for money, takes money from contractor Ayyappan Nair (Oduvil) & gangster Karim (Keerikkadan) to beat up Assistant Engineer Benny (Jayaram). Things get out of hand & Benny dies. Nathu is devastated when he finds that Benny was the husband of Asha (Urvashi), a lady he knew & helped once before. A penitent Nathu helps out Asha & gives up his life of crime, but soon the cops investigating the murder get hold of clues which links Nathu to it.
Ravishankar (Jayaram) has been freeloading off rich orphaned farmer Dennis (Suresh Gopi) & lying to his folks about him being a rich farmer himself. When his grandparents & cousins plan to visit him for the summer, Dennis helps him out by inviting them to his farm, 'Bethlehem Estates'. Ravi's grandfather (Janardanan) promises to make him his heir, if Ravi chooses one of his 5 cousins as his bride. But, one of the cousins, Abhirami (Manju Warrier) has a deep sorrow which no one knows about.
Sivasankaran (Jayaram) joins Vamadevakurup Memorial College, run by the Kurup brothers of the Kavumbatt family, in the village of Peruvannapuram, as a peon, where Kurups' younger sister Kunju Lakshmi (Parvathi) also studies. Misunderstandings between Kunju Lakshmi & Sivasankaran leads to Sivasankaran getting suspended from his job. Menaced by the Kurups, Sivasankaran vows to marry Kunju Lakshmi within 15 days. Sivasankaran, with the support of the villagers, now has to win Kunju Lakshmi's heart.
Giri R. Menon (Jayaram), a station master at the hill station of Krishnagudi, in Andhra Pradesh, falls in love with Meenakshi (Manju Warrier), sister-in-law of Army Major Pavithran (Balachandra Menon). Meenakshi, bound to a promise she gave her father (Narendra Prasad) to marry her parentless cousin & spoiled brat Akhilendran (Biju Menon), initially rejects Giri's proposal, but eventually agrees to accept Giri, if Akhil doesn't turn up in 6 months' time.
Somadattan (Suresh Gopi), the eldest son of renowned scholar & Hindu priest Devadattan Somayajippadu (Narendra Prasad), heads an Atheist society & believes his father spreads superstition. He also blames his father for the suicide of his younger brother Chitrabanu (Jayaram). When Devadattan is called upon by the villagers to do the great ritual of "Athirathram", to bring rain to the parched village, Somadattan ridicules it & challenges his father to give up his priestly life, if it doesn't rain.
Bhaskaran aka Bhasi aka Pachu (Jayaram), the grandson & lone surviving blood relation of Melevettil Thampi (Thilakan), who retired as a Railway Divisional Account, comes to visit his grandfather for the vacation, after a long 6 years, along with friends Ranjith Menon (Asokan), Lopes (Rahman) & Krishnankutty (Ajayan). Once home, Bhaskaran reconnects with family friends & old lover Bhadra (Kirti Singh). However, the vacation and everyone's happiness is short-lived when a major tragedy strikes.
Palackal Benny Chacko (Jayaram), a Cable TV business owner, marries Daisy (Kanika), with plans of using the promised 5 lakhs dowry to buy a fishing boat & better his financial situation. When Daisy's father Anto's (Venu Nagavalli) plans for raising the dowry doesn't work out in time, an angry Benny drops Daisy off back at her house. The twist of fate happens in the form of a 2 crore lottery win for Daisy, after which an embarrassed Benny must now win back Daisy's heart again, to have her back.

Seizing the chance, family & friends descend upon their house with various claims, with their eye on Mohandas's vast wealth. Babu & Raju tries to help Sujatha in her task.
When poor girl Maya (Manju Warrier) is selected to be adopted as the heiress to the Udayapuram Palace, Maya's family causes misunderstandings between Maya & her cousin/lover Appu (Jayaram) & carts her away to the palace. Appu follows suit & gets into the palace pretending to be the Maharaja Udaya Varma's long gone nephew Veerendran. Then, the real Veerendran (Biju Menon), a rowdy, shows up & demands Appu's help in stealing the royal crown of the palace, in return for helping Appu get Maya back.

After the marriage, things were going smooth for him, with Chandrika being sportive about his friendship with other women, till Balabhaskaran sleepwalks & gets into an accident. Thinking he was about to die, Balabhaskaran confesses to Chandrika. He ends up surviving, but his confession alienates Chandrika & their life turns into a living hell.
Raghavan Thampi (Thilakan) & wife Subadra (Sukumari) force their eldest son, mridangam artist Prabhakaran (Nedumudi Venu), to marry, with the result that he started fighting with his wife Shailaja (Geetha) all the time. Meanwhile, his younger brother Pradeepan (Jayaram) marries Roshni (Urvashi) after lying about him being an orphan. After Roshni ends up being a tenant in the upper level of his own house, Pradeepan now has to play a cat & mouse game to keep both his identities.
After his wife Indu died, well-off bank officer Vishwanathan (Jayaram) marries Meera (Jyothirmayi), who started considering Vishwanathan's son Vasu (Kalidasan) as her own. However, when Meera bears a son of her own, Appu, 9-year old Vasu feels his parents' love for him was eroding & in a fit of rage, he ends up killing Appu by mistake. SI Chandran (Shammi Thilakan), a tough inflexible cop, corners Vasu & brings the law on him. Although Vishwanathan & Meera forgives Vasu, the law doesn't let go.
Orphaned street boys Shankar (Jayaram), Sivan (Biju Menon) & Karunan (Suresh Gopi) grow up to be thick friends. Shankar & Sivan, who loved music, gets a break to form a band called 'Millennium Stars' with record label head Nair (Devan), & strikes it big, whilst Karunan turns to crime. Ahuja, head of a rival record label, uses Karunan as a pawn & breaks 'Millennium Stars' up. Shankar & Sivan goes solo, but after they flop, finally team up again. An angry Ahuja plans to kill Shankar & Sivan.
Kasaragod Kanakambaran (Jayaram), a poor drama actor, goes to Kanthapuram palace for a day, at the behest of Upendra Varma (Janardanan) & Radhakrishna Varma (Raghu), disguised as the long-lost heir to the palace, Suryanarayanan. The idea was to please Kanchanalakshmi (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), Suryanarayanan's wife from his child marriage, but Kanakambaran gets stuck there when Kanchanalakshmi doesn't let him leave. Meanwhile, Kanakambaran's wife Marthandam Bharathi (Karthika) comes looking for him.

He ends up in a forest area where he is given refuge by Velu Asan (Thilakan), an elderly man, who had mistakenly shot Madhavankutty. Hot on Madhavankutty's trail was cop Nandakumar (Siddique), Madhavankutty's ex-flame Shobha Menon's (Gautami) husband.
Tired of his headstrong wife Hridayakumari's (Urvashi) constant torture, Sudhakaran (Jayaram), caves into Antony Disilva (Jagadish), a professional killer's offer to kill her & pays him for it. Hridayakumari, however, turns over a new leaf & also becomes pregnant & now Sudhakaran didn't want her killed but isn't able to locate Antony to rescind the deal. Sudhakaran turns suspicious of everyone who approaches Hridayakumari & starts to attack them, causing for everyone to think he turned crazy.
Ramankutty (Jayaram), known for his spotless character in the village of Kuttanallur, gets disgraced & ostracized when he had to take on the blame for frequenting a known prostitute of the village, Dakshayani (Nirosha), to save his uncle Madhavan's (Jagathi Sreekumar) face. Madhavan, who had promised to clear Ramankutty's name in front of his daughter & Ramankutty's fiancé Sangeetha (Gayatri Jayaraman), goes back on his word, leaving Ramankutty on his own to clear his name.
Narayanankutty (Jayaram), an invalid, gets a prosthetic leg & a livelihood in the form of a small store, donated by a charity. He also falls in love with Sridevi (Charmila), a school teacher, & just when life was looking good for him, he gets accused of the murder of Sridevi's coworker Hema (Shyama) who was found dead in the village lake & his life is devastated as a result.
Hari (Jayaram) comes to Ooty to his adoptive father & famous writer N.S. Ananthapadmanabhan's (Thilakan) house after his studies, where he meets Ananthapadmanabhan's new wife, the much younger ex-actress Sudharma (Geetha). Sudharma, an accomplished classical dancer & Hari, a singer, develops a camaraderie which Hari's girlfriend Ammu (Parvathi), who had also come to stay with them, couldn't digest. Ammu's constant suspicions about Hari & Sudharma having an affair disturbs the peace of the house.
Bubbly Nimisha (Jyothika) arrives for the wedding of her long time Brahmin friend Sreeni (Jayaram), only to realize halfway through the 7-day long festivities that she was really in love with Sreeni & couldn't stand losing him. Meanwhile, the bride-to-be Abhirami (Geethu Mohandas), also shared a similar pain, as she was forced into agreeing for the wedding with Sreeni, even though she was in love with Ambi (Indrajith), her musician father Nellai Ramaswamy's (Oduvil Unnikrishnan) favorite pupil.
Mahadevan (Jayaram), a contest junkie, gets lucky when he wins a new car in a contest, but soon his luck turns sour when a crook goes on the loose, in a car of the same make, color & license plate, & the blame for his actions fall on Mahadevan. Maya (Sree Lakshmy), Mahadevan's object of attraction, turns out to be the miscreant's target while Mahadevan & his crony Kumar (Janardanan) go on the run from goofball cops Cherian (Kalabhavan Mani) & 'Idiyan' Vikraman (Indrans), who were out to get him.
Geethu (Shamili), a small kid, whose parents were on the verge of a bitter divorce & whose parents' families were battling out their egos with each other, seeks solace in her school bus driver Nandan (Jayaram) who becomes her best friend. Nandan also gets attached to Geethu as she evoked memories of his dead niece. When the school vacation arrives, a stubborn Geethu forces Nandan to take her to his village of Kurinjimala & experiences love & affection from Nandan's family.
Kunjumon (Ajaykumar),a midget, has a great relationship with his normal-sized adult son Alby (Jayaram) & together they run a successful catering service, but when they have a misunderstanding & Alby denounces Kunjumon, he attempts suicide. The incident affects Kunjumon's nervous system causing him to behave like a small kid. Kunjumon's antics starts to wreck his son Alby's life causing for Alby's wife, Ancy (Kanika), to walk out on him with their baby.
Conservative minded Police Commissioner Sanjeevan (Jayaram) marries DGP Rajasekharan Nair's (Narendra Prasad) headstrong & spoilt daughter Geethu (Abhirami) in an arranged marriage. From day one, Geethu accuses Sanjeevan of being overly affectionate towards his younger sisters, Savitri (Seena Antony) & Sangeeta, & tries to force them apart from Sanjeevan. With the help & encouragement of Preman & the colony dwellers, Vidyalakshmi gets a second chance at life.
Three struggling friends - Pavithran (Jayaram), a Hindu, Jimmy (Siddique), a Christian & Basheer (Jagathi Sreekumar), a Muslim, separately come to the Thripathoor palace in response to an ad calling for eligible Kshatriya bachelors to be adopted by Rajashekara Varma (Narendra Prasad) & wife Lakshmi (Jayabharati) of Thripathoor. Petty thieves Krish (Karthik Kumar) & Veni (Shikha) set out to retrieve some priceless diamonds hidden 20 years ago by a rich businessman in one of a set of four chairs. Giving them tough competition in the matter is an evil trio lead by thug Veerappan (Anand Raj), who had killed the businessman & his wife 20 years ago to get the diamonds. Both parties travel from city to city under different disguises looking for the chairs, while being chased around by imbecile cop Mathrubhootham (Jayaram).

But when the old men stumble upon a stash of automatic weapons, they are taken hostages by a terrorist group & Superintendent of Police Vijay Krishnan (Jayaram) is called to rescue them.
A leading industrialists's daughter, Saroja, is kidnapped and ransom of 10 crores is demanded. Assistant Commissioner of Police tries to catch the kidnappers. In parallel, a group of four friends in Chennai leave for Hyderabad to watch India-Pakistan cricket match. Due to an accident enroute they try to take a detour to reach Hyderabad through a forest. Gayathri (Samyuktha Varma), angry at unmerciful loan shark Govindan (Jayaram) for having bankrupted her family, after her father Lakshminarayanan (Kalamandalam Kesavan) borrows money from Govindan & fails to pay it back, takes up a job at Govindan's jewellery store, feigns love to him, & under the pretext of making him change over a new leaf, makes him spend his money.
Four people from different backgrounds - rich businessman Roy (Jayaram), roughneck Amir (Jayasurya), musician Surya (Kunchako Boban) & medical student Gaury (Meera Jasmine), all cancer patients on their final stages of the disease, meet at a cancer care center & become deep friends. Wanting to enjoy their remaining days to the fullest, they embark on a foreign tour funded by Roy, with Malaysia as their first stop.
After Balu (Jayaram) & Soorya (Sheela) fall in love & get married, but are unable to start a life because of Balu being broke, Soorya decides to try her luck as an actress in a new film, while Balu pretends to be her makeup man, to be close to her. However, ego issues & misunderstandings soon take over & they part ways. To get Soorya back, Balu returns as a makeup man again for a co-actress of Soorya's, but Soorya's director Siddarth (Siddique) has taken a fancy to her, complicating things.
Pirappancode Prabhakaran (Jayaram) & Pindimana Paulraj (Jagadish), two out of work drama artists, finds themselves in a caper after they try to rescue rich heiress Yamuna (Anusha) who was illegally detained at a mental asylum by its owner Dr. Krishnakumar (Rizabawa), who was seeking revenge against Yamuna for jilting him. To get close to Yamuna, Prabhakaran poses as a madcap himself & gets admitted there, but things don't go per plan when Prabhakaran gets stuck there with no means of escape.
Pappu aka Padmanabhan (Jayaram) is just out of jail, after serving a life sentence for the crime of murdering a college mate during the Annual Day celebrations. Pappu gathers up his old college friends Rex Manuel (Kunchacko Boban), Philip Idikkula (Biju Menon) & Rashid Munna (Manoj K Jayan), with a plan in mind - to go back to college to relive their old days. Pappu, however has an ulterior motive - to find the real culprit of the crime for which he did time.
Manikoth Ajayachandran Nair (Jayaram), having made his fortune in the Middle East, returns to his village & flaunts his wealth to gain social acceptance. But his business plans go wrong & he starts to financially crumble, which culminates in him breaking the promise of paying for his daughter Achu's (Anu Emmanuel) friend Lakshmi's surgery. Achu attempts suicide in ignominy & Ajayachandran leaves the village in disgrace. Years later, a now grown up Lakshmi (Meera Nandan) runs into Ajayachandran.
A stranger (Jayaram) comes to a village where a father, Madhava Menon (Thilakan), had been waiting for his long-lost son Balan for 15 long years, along with Balan's childhood sweetheart Ashwathy (Kanaka), who had remained unmarried for Balan. The stranger pronounces himself to be Balan & gives Menon & Ashwathy a new lease of life. Days later, when everyone seemed happy, the real Balan (Saikumar) shows up. The stranger was actually Vikraman, a criminal from Mumbai, hiding away from his own gang.

Anandakuttan & his uncle Keshu (Jagathi Sreekumar) go to Tamil Nadu to meet Anandakuttan's long-gone sister Anandavalli (Shobha Mohan) who had eloped 20 years ago with a Tamil.
