The brains behind the gang is saloon owner Square Deal Sal. Skipalong Rosenbloom comes to town and is tricked into becoming the sheriff. He falls in love with Miss Caroline Witherspoon, the town schoolmar'm. Skipalong finally corners Butcher in Square Deal Sal's saloon, beats him up and corrals the rest of the gang.
