Bene

Only really comes alive when the bad guy is in the scene and most of the movie is probably about a 50, but the last 20 minutes are a 100 in all it’s idiotic glory and I’m to tired to do the math.

Both too polished and pleased with itself.

The Innocents (2021) - Rated 09 Sep 2026

I would complain about the chances of several children with Otomo-powers and anti-social syndrome landing in the same neighborhood, but the excellent direction and phenomenal acting by the child actors whisks that away. Really bleak but very good.

Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020) - Rated 16 Aug 2026

The cast of good and the direction solid but it’s not as much fun or interesting enough to fully engage. THE SUICIDE SQUAD owes some percentage but is a lot better.

The Martian (2015) - Rated 26 Jul 2026

Avoided this for a decade because I loved the book and was certain an adaptation could only be weaker. While I was right, this is a very fun, science based movie with a stellar cast.

By no means bad, but somewhat disappointing if looking at the cast. Decent way to pass time if nothing potentially life-changing is on the cards at that particular moment.

You gui zi (1976) - Rated 23 Jul 2026

Not as insane as I’ve been led to believe, actually rather sombre on the Shaw Brothers Supernatural Shit -scale and it offers little else to balance that out.
