Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022) - Rated 04 Jan 2023

This turned out to be a fun movie to watch - even if there were killings and murders involved! I came in with zero expectations and left entertained.

Pinocchio (2022) - Rated 04 Jan 2023

Good movie, and great stop motion animation. It is a darker version of the classic, so be prepared for that when watching with kids.

House of Gucci (2021) - Rated 16 Jan 2022

Good all-around acting, but the story felt long winded and I lost interest about half-way through. It might be worth a watch if you are curious about the Gucci family business.

Dune (2021) - Rated 07 Nov 2021

So darn slow! So many moments of it when I was thinking, this is the end, it's probably going to wrap up here.... but alas, nope. Keep your eyes open! I haven't read the book, but it seems like book readers are fan of the movie vs those who haven't read it, are quite meh about the pacing. Beautiful landscape, though, this endless expanse of Dune.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) - Rated 11 May 2020

Such a fun segment of western stories, beautifully shot.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019) - Rated 10 May 2020

It was mainly the fluffy and cute Pikachu and Ryan Reynolds' good voice acting that carried this movie. The plot was too simple to warrant anything more than a movie for kids.

Lucy In The Sky (2019) - Rated 18 Feb 2020

Disappointing and unsatisfying. Not clear why Lucy would lose her mind in such a way.

Parasite (2019) - Rated 18 Feb 2020

The characters are not likeable and I don't sympathize with them. However, I do think the symbolism and metaphors from beginning to end is tied very well together. Surprise middle.

Jojo Rabbit (2019) - Rated 18 Feb 2020

Decent comedy satire movie. Some funny lines

The Two Popes (2019) - Rated 18 Feb 2020

Not as interesting as I thought it might be.
