Addams Family Values (1993) - Rated 12 Nov 2008
Julia, Lloyd and Huston star as the older members of the most awesome family in fiction history, but they naturally do not compare to the disturbingly perfect little Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams, whose scenes pretty much make the movie. Indubitably one of the greatest films of all time...

Labyrinth (1986) - Rated 12 Nov 2008
When David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly, Escher, labyrinths, goblins, 13 hour clocks, crystal balls, junkyards, monsters who can summon stones, weak bridges, talking door-knockers, illusions, white dresses, and characters with names such as 'Sir Didymus' are all involved, five stars doesn't even do justice...

The Ice Storm (1997) - Rated 12 Nov 2008

Christina Ricci and Elijah Wood form the most talented movie partnership in film history, the characters are perfectly defined by the beautiful script, the visuals are amazing and the themes are meticulously and poetically explored, to extents which other dramas can only envy. Absolutely phenomenal, and in no way a reflection of Ang Lee's other work...

The Princess Bride (1987) - Rated 12 Nov 2008
A man visits his sick grandson to read to him the story of 'The Princess Bride'. The script is faithfully based on the novel and is therefore endlessly quotable, painfully witty and just completely priceless. The best adventure story ever, and easily one of the greatest movies of all time. Totally charming, rewatchable and flawlessly directed...

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) - Rated 12 Nov 2008
The story of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town whose years and years of preparing and celebrating Halloween have run him dry. Especially depressed one year, he sets out into the woods and discovers Christmas Town. Overwhelmed by the colourful contrast, he decides to take on Christmas for a change. He kidnaps Santa (all in good spirit) and sets about making preparations for the new holiday. Inevitable problems follow. There's not really anything wrong with this film, in fact it
