Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
Worst of the bunch. I'll leave it at that.

Fantastic Four (2005) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
Poor interpretation of the comic book heroes. Iain Griffud deserved better.

The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
Funnier than I would have expected, and vastly less demeaning to women than other films of its kind. Loved the chemistry between Carell and Keener.

Ratatouille (2007) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
Oooo! OOOOO! A surprising protagonist with a rather unusual sidekick-relationship, a true, major obstacle, and action scenes that defy description. The ending is also truly gorgeous. It's not Pixar's best, but it is WAAAY up there.

Spider-Man (2002) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
I really adored it when it came out, but the Raimi-Maguire interpretation of Peter Parker kind of left me cold in hindsight. Willem Dafoe was PERFECTION, though.

The Mist (2007) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
Definitely a terrifying interpretation of the Stephen King book, but the ending really ruined it for me.

Casablanca (1942) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
Oooooo how much love do I have for the anti-hero and his superhero-sidekick beloved? Even though it is iconic, it is also charming, understandable even in these times, and redeems the French. So much love for this movie.

Pi (1998) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
While I get the artistry in the film, the handheld camerawork made me so motion-sick I had to watch it in 5 installments. The imagery was amazing but not worth the nausea.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
Wow, this is an extraordinary interpretation of the Odyssey, and George Clooney mugging at the camera works in this context. Also, "we thought you was a frog!" is the funniest line in context.

Independence Day (1996) - Rated 27 Jan 2013
Can't take its science seriously, but it's a fun romp and the chemistry between Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum rocks.
