This movie is NOT - I repeat - NOT a romantic comedy, even though it is billed that way. It's closer in style to a Woody Allen sort of movie, a dramedy if you will, a great combination of dark with lighter moments. Yes, this movie had its funny moments, but the situation was so dark and real - I found it emotionally overwhelming.

I liked it. I really liked it. It had suspense, action, romance, the pacing was good, the acting was good. I found very little not to like in this movie. If you expecting intelligence and surprises, this isn't that movie. You just wanna be entertained? This is it. The plot? We must go up. That's it, folks. It's a simple movie.

Mission: Impossible III (2006) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

I would love to give this movie a higher score, but to have Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the bad guy??? He wasn't scary or even came off as some supergenius bent to take over the world. No, he was some schlub stealing an item so he could sell it to someone else. Aside from Hoffman, the rest of the cast was very good, and I liked the new director's take on the franchise.

I had not - and still have not - read this book, so I'm sure there were a lot of ignored juicy bits of set up and tension. But one MUST remember: A book is a great BASIS for a movie story - which is an entirely different style of storytelling. That being said, I enjoyed this movie.

This was a hoot! Completely skewering America's obsession with "Idol" and the fact that more people vote for a reality show than the presidency is by far a more intelligent movie that's come along in a while. And it's doggone funny as well.

Again, incredibly silly, wonderfully acted, timing impeccably drawn out by the director, Vegas, Hawaii, an Elvis-inspired soundtrack, and Flying Elvises! Come on!
