Poltergeist (1982) - Rated 04 Dec 2011
Hooper and Speilberg created a movie of utter genius. Always packs a punch of unique horror because of it's trypical and generic beginning. A family we recognize and a sudden punch of something in there that will make us not want to leave the TV on after dark. The movie is carried by brilliant performances from Craig T. Nelson, JoBeth Williams, Heather O'Rourke, and Oliver Robbins. Definetly a film to see for any horror lover.

Beetlejuice (1988) - Rated 04 Dec 2011
Quirky and intelligent with a great cast- Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder brought the fire. Tim Burton at his finest

Very well made. There weren't even any scary images but the suspense kept you on your toes the whole movie

Aliens (1986) - Rated 04 Dec 2011
An action-packed, emotional roller coaster sequel to the enormously influential "Alien", a Ridley Scott epic. Almost ten years later James Cameron stepped up to the plate and hit a home-run. Sigourney Weaver kicks some seriously ass once again, and doesn't fall short of her first performance, rather comes back running. Motherly, and yet still ready to get out there and fight like a man, the character remains fresh and vulnerable, loving and unbeatable. Sharing her spot light are Michael Biehn, C

Final Destination (2000) - Rated 04 Dec 2011
A fun take on the teen-slasher. Sawa, Detmer and Smith aren't the Oscar winning type, so it goes without saying that the acting in the film is sub-par at best, but Larter and Cloke manage to save several scenes. The plot is the only asset this film has or needs. It's individuality is it's strongest suit, and even with completely predictability, "Final Destination" manages to thrill and even be considered a top horror film of the decade.

The Descent (2005) - Rated 04 Dec 2011
Disappointed to say the least. I had some high expectations but the ending ruined the entire movie for me, along with the bull shit acting. I must say that it was somewhat scary and well thought out, but it really didn't stand up to the high standards that I had from reviews and word-of-mouth adoration. I really didn't get any feeling from the actors, and I didn't get any actual feel of the plot.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) - Rated 04 Dec 2011
An iconic 80's slasher in the flesh. With little more than casting and an idea, Nightmare on Elm Street has become one of the most important horrors films in history, and Robert Englund has become Freddy Krueger. Craven's ability to take sleeping and find the ultimate horror hiding there is, frankly, brilliant. Depp's debut was uneventful, and leads me to be surprised that his career has gone so far. But, he is Johnny Depp. An average film that become a classic.

[Rec] (2007) - Rated 04 Dec 2011
Each character was a realistic recomposition of regular people-- some stereotypes, some not. The horror was great because it showed up, as was gorey, but not to the extent where you have to look away in utter disgust. It was done tastefully for the style of movie. The mosters are scariest because you can see them really coming to a fruition. The plot was magnificant! Each scene brought new terrors, new questions, new deaths, and more questions. The writing, direction and costumes were all

The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005) - Rated 04 Dec 2011
So much potential ruined within a too long two hours. What could have been a creepy exorcism film (though still average), became a less than average "court-room-drama". Whoever had the awful idea to tell the story of an exorcism through a lawyer should just stop writing films. Jennifer Carpenter created a beautiful character, and never once displayed anything less than acting gold, yet she alone could not overcome the awful writing, and acting employed throughout the film. Could have been somet
