"It's ... alright. I was hoping for more.
It's a solid enough sequel to the original trilogy, and while it's not exactly groundbreaking, it's well told.
It just gave me the impression that everyone involved (except perhaps Ford) was Very Serious About Making A Good Star Wars Film, to the detriment of individuality and charm.
Maybe I'd have liked it more if I'd seen it when I was a kid, like the OT.
Maybe I'll like it more on a second viewing.
In the meantime.... eh. It's okay."

"Probably about the best screen version of the book one could hope for, given the source material's simultaneously technical and irreverent nature. While some depth of character might be lacking, Scott's skill at contrasting human moments with epic scale is a great match for the story, and I never doubted for a moment in what I was seeing."
