If a CW show had 10% Deadwood appeal in it. Historically inaccurate, though I don't mind that too much. Starts off good, but quickly devolves into soapy teen drama. Voice over is terrible. Dialogue is corny as hell. Some modern woke stuff (mostly race relations) shoehorned in. Too much characters serving no purpose, being cardboard people. Overal pretty bad, too bad because I had high hopes.

Walked away after 3 episodes. The only scene that gripped me was Billy Bob Thornton's first scene, come to find out that was his only scene. Most of this is cliche, melodramatic, and corny as hell, and many of the performances come off as over-the-top caricatures, the core leads not withstanding

OK, it's only two episodes in, but I am loving it. It's brutal and poetic and the cast is amazing. Will update as it progresses, but so far couldn't be more thrilled for a good western series.

One of the most satisfying TV series ever made. Exciting, engaging, and fun. It has a ton of heart and is full of charismatic characters. Some of the narration can be a little preachy but tolerable. Isabel May as Elsa is absolutely mesmerizing. Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw are awesome patriarchs. Excellent story, and scenery. Overall it is a highly enjoyable series.

It's been a few months now and I can't stop thinking about this masterpiece. As far as TV goes I'm not sure I've seen anything I loved more than this.

Very good dramatization of the struggles of moving across the country during that time. I actually enjoy this show more than Yellowstone. However, the narration really annoyed me. Wife loved it.

Those oversized daytime tv inner monologues amidst the otherworldly absurdity of the action (every woman without dermal fillers dies, Sam Elliott digging a grave with a knife, etc.) are astonishingly stupid.

Much different to "Yellowstone", it's often hard to watch, very raw and takes its time, however, a solid show with some very emotional moments and some unforgettable moments including the tornado scenes. P.S. The monologues were some of the best parts, poetic & not retelling what's happening, merging with literature.

The best parts of this feel like untold history (the pox checks; the sheer # of challenges), but despite its claims to authenticity, most of this adheres to the lies of omission of the new "Equity" mandates: a black character whose race troubles only him; & Indians who are ALWAYS noble (the white lead swoons over, & even marries a Comanche Indian, but no mention that Comanches practiced polygamy AND slavery). Worse: there is NO indication that religious faith is what kept these settlers going.

Beautiful cinematography which tells an epic story. Immersive and engrossing.
