Columbo - Season: 2, Episode: 8 - All Episodes
The smarmy TV chef, Dexter Paris, has a rich uncle who is about to marry a woman young enough to be his granddaughter. The uncle's nephew visits him while he takes a bath, plugs in an egg beater and throws it into the tub, electrocuting the old man. But when the young fiancee and a trusted housekeeper discover the body, it's clothed in a sweatsuit and slumped over an exercise bike. It looks as if he had had a heart attack while riding it. (imdb)

Seemed rushed - as if edited down to these short length series of Columbos. The twins at crime thing has been done better elsewhere.

The TV chef show part was cheeky, that was the high point of the episode. The murder set-up was rather interesting also; overall it was okay, not great. Name is a big give away though.

It's one of the lesser Columbos of that season, but I'm giving it points for starring Martin Landau - twice.

Predictable but fun while it lasts.

Meh, I know they can do better, seemed a bit too easy.

Think I'm finally gonna start rating all these Columboze. This has maybe the funniest example of maybe my favourite Columbo trope, Columbo "observing" the perp in their own environment only to get found out and put front and center. The perp in this case is Martin Landau and the front and center is grinning like an idiot on Martin Landau's cooking show, so helpfully pictured on the left there. I'll bet Lieutenant Columbo was a considerate and indulgent lover.

This episode felt like it was entirely improvised, almost like an SNL skit or something. The more eccentric parts were entertaining, but you really couldn't take this episode seriously. Columbo was also a bit of a creep this episode.
