Pleasant enough but fairly mild stand-up set is helped by Martin’s inherent likable and affable nature, but there may be a problem that the likable material and likable performer add up to a final product that lacks an edge and spark to keep things moving. Some amusing bits here, but his goldfish attention span in the construction of his set becomes a little tiring the more it wears on.

I usually prefer comedians that have jokes that transition into each other, or stories that have an arc and jokes spread throughout. Martin has always had a style that focuses on several quick jokes that don't really connect, but here it seems to be more on display than normal. It makes the special on the whole kind of incoherent and the jokes don't stand out as well, but the ones that work, really work.
