You always run the risk of ruining what's good about a movie or series when you reboot it. Ducktales is all over the map for this. Sometimes it adds elements that help- Gyro Gearloose as a selfish egomaniac was a good change. Sometimes it throws a lateral pass like with Webbigail and Ms. Beakley. They're interesting but so were their former counterparts. Sometimes they screw up a good character, like Launchpad, who was better in the old show. I'm cautiously optimistic but worry for this show.

Not really a fan of the flash animation-lookin' CalArts visual style and on a humor level it isn't doing a tremendous amount for me so far, though I still enjoy the general world and characters and like that it brings Donald Duck into the narrative a bit more than he was in the original series. Overall though I'll stick with the original.

Mostly I enjoyed it for the nostalgic theme song. Webby's high-pitched screaming is insanely annoying.

S1: 78, S2: 82, S3: 80

It's more visually dynamic than the original, but the boys are a bit annoying sometimes and Launchpad is a husk of his former self. Also the original is heavily fortified with nostalgia, while this isn't.

Good show just like the original. More appealing to the eye to watch.

Love the art style. Each frame is like a comic strip. Loving the adult level jokes and irony. The pilot had more character development in the first 30 minutes than I've seen an most recent movies. The nephews now have their own distinct personalities and are true main characters instead of side kicks.
