Foundation

I'm not familiar with the source material but after a brilliant opening episode, Foundation never quite lives up to the promise, but remains watchable due to some interesting themes and narratives and some great performances from the likes of Harris and Llobell. Unfortunately there are also some storylines and performances that are weak or mediocre at best which impacts the overall enjoyment but there's still a Foundation to build on here in future seasons ... pun intended!

Essentially Star Wars for grownups, in the sense that it's a sprawling, beautiful space opera, in service of some truly intersting hard sci-fi concepts.

Awful so far. Not related to the books in spirit. A lot of care was taken creating flashy explosions; seems nobody cared to check the script with anybody with a degree.

It is an insult to both the original book and the viewer. It should have a different name because it's not the real 'Foundation'. Everything happens so fast. The scenes are not connected to each other. The main characters are badly written. Even the NPCs from an indie game have more credibility. The plot is totally illogical. What a shame! The only good thing is the nice views.

Good space opera. A lot of great actors (Day, Gaal, Hari, Demerzel, ...). Lots of side plots and jumps in time. Hard to keep track of all of the magic, though. Pretty incredible visuals for a 30+ hour show. Might have to rewatch.

Amazing series. For me only bettered by The Expanse. Can be a bit out there story wise but it’s gripping and look forward to next series. Book worms say it’s not like the books.
