Fruits Basket

A surprisingly funny and intelligent anime series with appealing characters, lots of heart, and a rich mythology. The humor balances the moments of deep emotion and sadness inherent to the storyline. The series' main flaw is one it couldn't avoid - the manga wasn't finished when the anime adaptation was made, so instead of the story being resolved, it just kind of... stops. Still, great stuff.

Psychologically rich with a diversity of character personalities, I found just about everyone in this show likable and complex. Slice of life with just a bit of fantasy thrown in. Give this show a few episodes. You'll like it. It's a great mix of humor and drama.

This needs another season, it was the only Anime that I have ever enjoyed.

As with many of the naughties anime, the series cuts to an abrupt end where the source material (manga) hadn't finished yet and it ended up missing many later plot developments.

The story of Tohru Honda and her life with three men seems strange at times but it's strange only because the men are all afflicted with a curse that turns them into animals from the Chinese zodiac. It is a beautiful story that has a rich story that has a cloud of darkness that hangs over it throughout but, in the end, the story isn't really dark. I found the end of the story interesting and optimistic in only the way anime can be. It's something that I would watch again.

Very sweet, it's a pity it ended so abruptly.
