You don't really watch this show. You just watch the funny clips of Ramsey yelling at contestants and customers who have complaints. Unlike most cooking competitions, nobody gives a shit about any of these contestants because THEY'RE FUCKING DONKEYS!

It's occasionally entertaining because of Ramsey's personality and how bombastically over the top certain contestants are but it's otherwise typical reality tv slop that gets extremely repetitive season to season. There's a clear formula for how this show produces drama and it's more about that than anything regarding culinary culture or practice. A lot of challenges have nothing to do with cooking and are clearly designed to produce lame TV moments than earnestly be a true cooking competition.

Formulaic for sure. Entertaining? Yup! Do I binge watch it? Uh huh.

A guilty pleasure... but that said, it became clear enough in later seasons that either the show was trying to trump up drama, or it selected contestants that were intentionally bad choices for a show like this. I felt too manipulated. The best seasons are the first few.

The best English reality show I've ever watched. It is interesting which challenges each episode has to offer.

Never really understood the Abolish Restaurants sentiments of my comrades -until shit like this was all over the tv.

In his American series he is a bit of a caricature of himself but he still is magnetizing and brutally honest. He does care, quite a bit as well. The competition factor really isn't all that interesting, it's all about Ramsay.
