Another staple from 80's tv, that hooked every male from age 8-60 into watching it. Was there even a single female who watched this show. I don't remember any girls ever talking about this growing up. This was "Must Watch TV" before it was a thing. The entire appeal was how was MacGyver going to get out of the sticky situation he was in this week and what contraption would he create to help him escape.

Take a pack of Chewing Gum and make an explosive. I think it was only in 1 episode he did this in because I don't remember to many where he uses this a lot. I know in the remake they always joke about that. Great action and in this Series he doesn't like killing people with guns but will find other means to do so. He's always thinking of clever ways to get out of danger.

I once worked with a Portuguese dude who hadn't been over long and didn't speak much English. He was having problems with his computer, suggested a re-start -it'd been on for weeks and the OS was bad at memory management- and went back to work. Moments later I heard an enormous bang, walked in to see the screen smashed -"wtf man?". He looked puzzled for a couple of seconds then shrugged his shoulders and said "MacGuyvered it". I only remember the one with the ants though, that was shit.

If science isn't your thing, this might be right up your alley.

It consists of episodes, there is no dark or coherent storyline, the tone is too light and optimistic, to your taste. Watching it is a guaranteed waste of time

Astoundingly idiotic, but it deserves points for the incredibly laughable means to which the hero gets out of everything and creates devices out of the stupidest bullshit imaginable. I also like the intro song. Hey man, that matters to me!
