Gross flashy and sleazy which is the key to a good serial killer doc. Great mood throughout this but it’s really focused on the detectives when baby we are just here for the yuck. Oh don’t worry it’s not that graphic see we put a little x on this lady’s blown up head.

Although I'm a little uncomfortable with anything that lionizes Los Angeles law enforcement this much, this is an expertly crafted docu-series that really leans into scene-setting. One of the most quintessentially LA stories.

Ramirez' victim list is unfortunately very lengthy, and so naturally the docuseries needs time to show each of them and how their lives were cut so brutally short. Still, the series feels slower than others. Sometimes that helps you feel the detectives frustration like how long it took for the footprint to come into play. Also I generally don't like crowds sensationalizing killers, but that crowd coming together to help catch Ramirez was very cathartic to see.

I’ve seen plenty of these type of serial killer docu-series but I got through this all in one sitting which must say something. Has twists and turns in the story that would only happen back in the days before DNA, widespread CCTV and data sharing, but they – and the down-to-earth honest detectives - make the narrative truly compelling. The last episode might be overkill: nothing new is gleaned from the trial, except there are plenty of nutters out there willing to idolise a psycho like this.

Good doc and what a terrifying man.

The series seems too long for what it tells. At first it seems sort of chaotic, without focus or any clear path and intention of what it's telling. It takes sometimes too much time in some elements (about the lives of the agents or victims) that maybe could be more interesting portrayed in a different way, but for me it just make it look interest as they're shown. Last episode is a bit better once it focus a bit more in the criminal.

The use of old news footage and radio broadcasts were great... I'd actually prefer more of that -- more setting -- over the alternative which was melodramatic reenactment footage (hammers being dropped, guns shot, etc). These moments made it feel more like a campy Lifetime docu series.
