This show is both a great parody of shounen tropes while also building upon these familiar narrative fixtures within the genre to make a compelling piece of action anime and a thorough analysis of what it means to be a hero. This show never tries to be too dramatic and it is mostly hilarious if you've seen tons of superhero/shounen media, but it is full of great one-liners and truly innovative characters. Now, back to my 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, and 10 kilometers of running a day.

One Punch Man is a weird idea, how is it that you make a character who can literally defeat anyone with a single punch be so entertaining? But yet, it works. Saitama is a deadpan, often times nonchalant guy who takes on horrifying and/or comical threats with very little enthusiasm. The clash between Saitama's character with the often times dramatic and cliched tropes he comes to face with is a great source of comedy that would otherwise be pretty bland without him. Also, the animation is superb.

Great entertainment. Often laugh-out-loud funny and even takes a few sharp jabs (heh) at Japanese corporate politics for anyone who has worked here. Fun fights, not too childish, not too serious. Watch with anyone.

One of the most rewatchable anime, at least the first season. This would be rated slightly higher if the quality didn't dip significantly. I suggest mob psycho to anybody looking for a consistently good series.

The early episodes are very cool. But it couldn't stop itself becoming flashy and formulaic of any average shonen. Still One-Punch Man is a unique show. The idea behind is brilliant.

This show would be a lot better if it wasn't so homophobic

very entertaining parody with some great animation. far more effort is put into this then needed to sell it, which is a rare and welcome change.

The only anime I ever liked. And it’s one of the best things I’ve watched in my life. It’s absolutely brilliant.

It's really fun to watch and have a good story that is fun to watch. It has good characters with very good animation for season 1. This Anime has a Manga which I think is way better and has very good artwork. The Manga is ahead both season 1 and 2 and season 3 too. Season 3 is going to be very good and there is going to be a big epic fight between two strong people. I recommend reading the Manga after watching both season 1 and 2, and you won't regret reading it.

It's hilarious. And they stick to their guns about it being over-the-top and hilarious. Just when I thought I had outgrown my anime phase something like this comes out and makes watching Japanese cartoons fun again.

One Punch Man is a self-defeating concept. If everything can be solved with a single punch, then the story up until the hero shows up has to be just as good to hold the viewer over. Unfortunately, it isn't. The fight scenes are just displays of brute force rather than anything interesting and the comedy is typical juvenile Japanese fare. S1: 30

Season one is a great and loving parody of the whole genre. Season two loses much of the humor and simply becomes what it made fun of in season one. Like almost everything in the genre, it would had been better served with a set story with an end point to avoid it dragging on and becoming over reliant on tropes.

Fancy animations and a simple storyline make the show really easy to follow but its shallow characters don't offer much except being occasionally funny.

If you've ever seen that memetic image from the manga of an expressionless Saitama saying "OK", it sums up this show perfectly. So bored with its own genre it can only process it with ironic detachment, or later on, by escaping into sheer over-the-top zaniness. Not entirely without its charms but I wish this superb animation and music had been spent on a story I could give a shit about.
