The screenwriters are not up to the proposed premise. The result is a frustrating series that goes in uninteresting and pointless directions.

This could and shoudl have been good, but instead it was cringeworthy and boring. What a waste of talent. Under the dome vibes (and that's not a good thing) except at least under the dome was wacky.

First of all, we're officially in 2022 and Western TV shows have taken over the world again. The Outer Range is like a mix of Yellowstone and Stranger Things. Mystery, dark atmosphere, fantastic cinematography. When many parameters are considered, Outer Range gives you what you want and meets your expectations, but at the end of the first 2 episodes, I still want to be cautious. For now I would say it's a good show. What an actor Josh Brolin btw! My rating may up or down later…

There's some really cool ideas going on here, but I do think it takes a little too much time to get going. Thankfully, all the set up is done, and they can focus on telling some more interesting stories in season 2. The cast is phenomenal, and show looks fantastic. EDIT: They wasted the potential they had and season 2 also didn't really get to the point either. Then canceled.

Interesting premise (or is it? getting a little tired of sci-fi crossovers) but laughable execution that goes off the rails more by every episode, culminating in just something that's basically just cannon fodder for realtime jokemaking. Probably not what they had in mind.

Never lives up to the strange mystery in its own backyard. The cast is good although some of the over to top hammy performances from the evil next door neighbors wears thin. I might see if the second season improves but it will have a short leash.

The first episodes, with their dark atmosphere, were promising. Unfortunately, as the time travel topic is developed, the story fills up with "Back to the future" situations, but with a very big difference. While "Back to the future" was ironic and the time travel paradoxes were intentionally laughable, this series takes them very seriously and what is supposed to be dramatic ends up to be laughable in all the wrong ways. And the problem gets much much worse in the second season...

Intriguing, but too much meandering.

Every single character is insufferable, the mystery is dispelled by the end of the second episode. I'm embarrassed for Brolin, to go from the Coen brothers to a purple alien, and now this.
