Slightly better than most sitcoms of the time. The talented cast elevated the frequently ho-hum material.

Jennifer and Mary Anne are one-dimensional live-action cartoon characters. They are not welcome, but they never leave. Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker might be my favorite comedy duo ever. It's a shame they didn't wrap after 3 great seasons and go on to become comedy legends. Instead, the show coasted with dwindling ratings for 4 or 5 years and their careers mostly washed up. Sometimes this show is so dumb it's funny. Sometimes it's so dumb that I feel like I'm going to have an aneurysm and have to turn it off. Sometimes the jokes are surprisingly brilliant, usually they are unbearable. If I'm watching this it's because I feel a bit down or I'm waiting for my meds to kick in and Balki's optimism and comedic timing cheer me up. I've never been able to stomach more than an episode or two at a time, but it serves a purpose. If only Larry wasn't such a buzzkill.

This was my favorite show growing up. I just loved the theme song to this show. The characters on here are great especially Balki. This shows relays the message that a nobody like Balki can come to America and be a success.

A few laughs but mostly just annoying repetitive fish out of water crap.
