Poirot

David Suchet is great, the mysteries are interesting but most of all the setting of the 20's in England with its Art Deco, green fields, and period clothes gives the show a dreamy feel-good quality.

I love Agatha Christie, but I've never been fond of Poirot.

It's too difficult to actually solve the cases as you watch, but Poirot is such a likable character that I love seeing what he'll get up to next.

David Suchet is the definitive Poirot. The older episodes are filled with nostalgic charm, with an often pervasive interest in the art deco styles of the inter-war period. It would have been better if the later episodes kept using the original musical score, subject to variations, but they're still great viewing. EJ 45, IF 37

Suchet owns the role, but the quality of the mysteries varies wildly.

After season 1

David Suchet is fantastic in his role, he is not playing Poirot but living the character! You can actually watch this just for his performance, nothing else. Yet the episodes are mostly brilliant, mon ami.
