at over three hours it's not as boring as one would think, but if you're going to create such a strange/mysterious world then you ought to at least answer a few questions. this movie lets everything stand as is and it's climax seems as if there might be some resolution to this epic story, but just ends flat with the viewer holding every question he/she had since the beginning.

The ingredients are there but the chef is not. A compelling world and a great deal of potential for twists, turns, and thrills are squandered by, well, turning what could have been an interesting many-episode television programme into a feature film, for a start (even if it was a really long feature film).

Riverworld is a mediocre film that stars several actors from many of your favourite sci-fi shows. The plot is decent but implementation is less than stellar. From the inconsistent cast to the poor dialogue to the bad action choreography; if you have to rely on that much slow motion on that budget, rethink whether you need that action piece. As I was unfamiliar with the source material, a quick Google reveals that this film is squandered potential, though hints of the intriguing premise remain.

Pure nonsense.

Not great but it works as an adaptation of this sprawling series. They didn't aim too high and everyone involved seemed to have a deal of fun making this, so for that I give it a pass.

I made it through 90 minutes before tapping out. It was like a war of attrition, one that I was simply not bored enough to win

An enjoyable fantasy about the humans caught in purgatory.
