I feel like this never reached its potential. There seemed to be about 2 minutes of content over the course of any given episode. Those 2 minutes weren't bad, though

The hosts and announcers were really bland and forgettable, but the main show itself was pretty entertaining. I liked all the crazy contraptions people would create and seeing these contraptions destroy each other was pretty entertaining, even if the more basic robots tended to win more often than not. That said though, I personally thought the Robot Masters were a lot cooler than what anyone made and put in the competition.

production values on the new series were utter, utter dogshit. whoever was doing the camerawork and editing during the battles needs to be fucking fired on the spot. that aside, i LOVE this show, even though the american version is probably more extreme from the clips i've seen. it appeals to both the obsessive boxing aficionado and the metalthirsty child in me, i suppose.
