Sabrina the Teenage Witch

The series is sorta good, but this just sucks!

The only scene that I can remember is when she uses her new powers to change her running shoes, which results in her speed doubling. That was garbage.

I must not be in the target audience for this, as I'm still waiting for something funny to happen. It mostly parrots all other growing up/surviving high school films, albeit with witch powers, instantiated by being able to rhyme. Here, we learn it's OK to cheat on exams, it's fine to cheat in athletics, but under no circumstances can one cast a love spell. (Side lesson: don't leave your massive witch manual in your easy-to-open locker.) Very poor.

As a lunchtime show it's o.k.!

Other than enjoying this as a 90s nostalgia trip - a baby-faced Ryan Reynolds and of course Melissa Joan Hart, who to me will always be Clarissa from 'Clarissa Explains It All' - there is not a lot here to like for me. But nostalgia is a powerful force.

The show had unique situations and interesting characters. This had neither. Worth seeing a few minutes to catch a young Ryan Reynolds being a douche, otherwise avoid with extreme prejudice.

I liked the tv show but not a fan of the movie. TGIF!
