Sailor Moon took high-energy kids' action shows and bent them into an entirely new shape. Splicing in the DNA of romance and female coming-of-age narratives let the tensions of these genres play off each other, resulting in rich new veins of possibility, spreading in ripples through the anime medium. Today, the kids who grew up on it spread its influence through Western media, subverting gender norms and expected patterns. Plus, it's just really freakin' fun.

When I was a kid, I definitely loved the part in the transformation sequences where they appeared to be naked.

Good show when it came out. Watched it a lot back in the day. Story Continuity here which was decent and not just having the characters all over the place like other tv cartoons.
