next time my therapist asks me what kind of help I think I needed as a child, instead of staring blankly and stupidly at her because if I knew how to fix my problems I'd be doing a lot better in life, I'll just say shows like these. no I'm not deflecting

Cried, cried and cried. Cried a whole two weeks about it. I wish I was joking. Beautiful show! I'm obsessed with it.

Fun, thoughtful, gay, satisfying, gay again. Starts off with a strong kids' adventure series with good humor, and layers deep themes into the character arcs, like "learning to live and have relationships outside your abusive upbringing" and "turning into the people who hurt you", and then develops and iterates on them over time. The ending is real strong, bringing together all the character arcs into wonderful catharsis, and it's really good and yeah, I liked it a lot!

Having no affinity for Masters of the Universe, I found She-Ra to be a good show with plenty of colourful characters (both figuratively and literally), positive themes of friendship, forgiveness & love, and a kicking score. The show also has positive (& almost exclusive) LGBTQ representation, which is fair given the stale subplots in other shows. Any controversy is mostly unwarranted though at times the writing doesn't help. One aspect to the finale feels a little fan-fic-esque but is o/w good.

Okay- not a fan, at all. It made a lot of the episodes I saw about teen drama and impulsiveness, when the original She-Ra was about bigger themes. I do understand there's some overlap when it comes to some subject matter and tolerance and all that, but it altered everything far too much from the original version with Melendy Britt for me to like it.

Fun family animation that riffs well on its source. Some of the writing is clunky but it’s a well told story. Well voiced also and presents LGBTQ characters with refreshing positivity and simplicity.
