TV: Strong acting, somewhat questionable framing, plotting and 'truthiness'. Overall mid-way through the season I became a little too incredulous at some of the tropey short-cutting (it's London so cue the rain clouds and those red phone boxes etc) and curious character development. Show offers kind of a scattergun treatment of many issues rather than focusing on less of them done better. My biggest problem is that I can't really trust the accuracy of anything in it, seems a bit over-wrought.

The disparity in director quality per episode is too big but the better episodes are very good, handling the subject with self-control, not unlike Le (unrivalled in the genre) Bureau. Especially Camp brings sophistication to this procedural but Daniels and Rahim are also great. This (composited) true story deserves a better portrayal of the governmental antagonists (i.e CIA) that causes instutional failure and immense loss of lives; Sarsgaard and Wrenn Schmidt are poor and out-of-place cultlike

Well acted, good story, but it would’ve been much better as a two hour movie. There seems to be a lot of series that heavily stretch the plot in this way, with Homecoming, The Rain, and Designated Survivor being similar cases.

Gripping mini-series paints a provocative (and credible) portrait of how the 'He-Man'-ing of the CIA and FBI frustratingly allowed the clues leading to 9/11 to be ignored. Brilliant performances sell the drama, with Daniels extraordinary in arguably the performance of his career, though Stuhlbarg, Camp, Schmidt, Sarsgaard and a sinister Baldwin are all equally fine. Handles the climax with a welcome taste and restraint, though the irony in the coda provides a wrenching little kick of sadness.

Forgettable baddies/goodies, CIA/FBI political drama stuff. Homework clearly done the focus on a small number of characters with big, and often familiar personalities made the truthiness grate.
