The Pitt

It is better and at the same time worse than its inspiration. Characters feel a bit too inspirational while dealing with contemporary societal issues on top of the credible medical emergencies. It's probably on par with an above average ER season.

The medical facts are accurate, though the decision making and hospital environment is farcical. S1 was tight and very "show don't tell" with interwoven cross episode storylines. S2 is one talky social issues exposition after another, very different pacing and focus. Much worse.

This thing is so tight, it's beautiful. A lot of intense moments, a lot of heavy moments, fantastic cast, great camera work, wonderful writing.

Welcome back, ER. You've been missed.

Season 1 - 85 Season 2 - 65

S1: 97 - S2: 78 Feels so real, it's crazy that these are actors and not a real hospital, real wounds and such. Season 2 loses much of the magic, behaving similarly but without the same emotional weight, style, and passion. Some acting falls flatter and the pacing is less engaging.

Became one of my favorite series … I love the depth of humanness in a setting is usually nothing but an adrenaline rush

Season 1 was better than season 2. Hopefully season 2 isn't better than season 3.

The series has a really interesting approach, with a large cast of characters and a very short timeframe: each season takes place over a single day. The aim is to show just how stressful a day in an ER in the US can be. It's very interesting and human, but I think the series stretches the episodes a bit and would benefit from being several episodes shorter.
