It is better and at the same time worse than its inspiration. Characters feel a bit too inspirational while dealing with contemporary societal issues on top of the credible medical emergencies. It's probably on par with an above average ER season.

The medical facts are accurate, though the decision making is often not. Serial nature and real time episodes are fun, though the storytelling quality remains to be seen.

Worth the watch for the high production standards, but the writing is bordering on mediocre.

This feels very comfortable. It was pitched as a sequel to ER and Wylie's Dr. Carter, but they could not get the rights from the Crichton estate. It definitely feels like that early ER type show. Conflicts with management and co-workers on treatments etc. Personal stories from the staff, intertwining with the patients for that episode. Lots of medical surprises. I don't know if it will continue at this score, but it feels solid out of the gate.
