Masterson & Elliott was the main reason this show was funny. After Masterson departed it rapidly got worse and worse not helped by the fact that Kutchers character is probably one of the most unlikable not funny character ever seen in a comedy.

Fine soap-oph/sit-com. Sam Elliot and the rest of the elder cast I think doing great but other than Elisha, the young part of the cast is kinda not sincere, and their characters are not realistic/well written at all. And Ashton Kutcher is not bad but not great either, actually, Sam Elliot's role (Beau) kinda takes the leading role. I wasn't much of a fan of Rooster's character and how people handle him (cuz he was a useless, piece of human garbage most of the time) but w/o him they lost dyna

I really tried to watch it, but it's unbearable at best.

Needs quite a few episodes to find its flow, but then most of the (unintended) awkwardness dissipates and an interesting mix of hillbilly humor and straight-on traumatic drama remains.

I would definitely like it more without the stupid laugh track. I like Sam Elliot and Debra Winger, but Aston Kutcher and Danny Masterson offer little to enjoy. I was not impressed and did not have any ambition to watch past the opener.

Season 1 & 2: 80 / Season 3 & 4: 68

Ashton Kutcher tries his best but most of what comes out of the their mouthes is just way too idiotic to take the serious moments seriously. Masterson is a mere joke trying to sound and act like a redneck while sitting in the background sipping beer. So far it is the guest stars a long with Kutcher that give the show some life and reason to watch. I like Kutcher and will continue to watch for that reason.
