Your Movie Sucks

While I like that he's recently been reviewing festival kind of films that no-one (particularly YouTube film critics) have heard of, his reviews of good films are unbelievably trite ("the acting was great, the directing was awesome, and the cinematography looked cool. And I'm giving this one a 6/10"), while his "criticisms" are just ridiculous nit-picks in the story or sound design, rather than the overall picture. But his Kimba doco is a golden testament to autistic over-analysis, god bless him

I wish he did more of the indepth reviews / commentaries that made his channel famous. He used to spend hours meticulously ripping bad entertainment apart. His newer stuff ... I usually agree with his Quickie reviews but find them uninteresting and his Adum & Friends reaction videos aren't as funny or as engaging as his older content because it's just friends casually chatting over a movie. He's not putting in the effort anymore.

A pale imitation of RedLetterMedia. Adum almost completely misunderstands what makes those shows work and fails over and over again at recreating them. Every long-form review I've seen I was actively bored, the Quickie's most often say nothing substantial, and Adum and Friends is fine but nowhere near the quality of Best of the Worst. You could do worse but there is nothing here that you can't find somewhere else that has been done better.

Kind of a mixed bag for me. When he decides to go in depth on a film he can be enjoyable to watch. Otherwise, I get the sense he doesn't really capture the essence of the films he reviews and focuses too much on individual aspects he did and didn't like to the point of being nitpicky at times. This isn't inherently bad to do in film critique, but Adam doesn't do well in describing how these examples affect the entire film and his review scores can be oddly conflicting with what he's said.
