Alien Outpost

Different approach to alien invasion film. Liked the documentary style of shooting the movie.

Alien Outpost is shot as a documentary following the events of soldiers fighting straggling aliens who attacked Earth 10 years prior. Specifically we follow Outpost 37 which is one of the few Outposts left standing. It's undermanned and fear is high but somehow the men manage to stay as positive as possible and are even endearing. I don't think it's accurate to call Alien Outpost a horror movie.

Absolutely horrible. Doesn't make any sense and it seems to be more about American military then it does about an actual alien invasion. Acting is alright, that's why the 16/100.

Do you get it? It's District 9 but for USA / Mid-East relations, and lacking any of the dynamism, inventiveness, or humour of the original. Crucially, it also mistakenly never stops pretending the Americans are the good guys.

For all the "Gear of Wars" fans and for all the "beefy guys" lovers, men or women.

There are many things to like in this futuristic mock documentary. Good performances, aliens, soldiers, action, CGI & production quality. Huge plot holes in the story, such as the last of an alien invasion being left to a small group of soldiers? The wartime drama was handled fairly well. I didn't get invested in any one character, but they were engaging as a whole. The time frame set to 2020 made the tech more believable. I disliked the interviews & screen text. Poor writing but good directing.
