On his seventeenth birthday, Michael is given a present of a Ouija board by Tony his best friend. At a session, Tony using a medium known to him only as "Virgil", unwittingly unlocks the evil forces of the board. Soon there is a wave of violent killings and the chief suspect appears to be Michael. He has been witness to all the killings via premonitions and out of body experiences. Is Michael the killer? Not many teen horror movies are brave enough to let the main character wear kids' dinosaur pajamas for most of the runtime. Scariest part was the girl's unibrow.

Teenage Freddy Kreuger. Unfortunately much of the film is boring (but quick) and I don't recall much from the plot. Ouija board summons a spirit who needs to be tethered to a kid? The dialogue isn't atrocious but is not memorable. There's a love story and something about a rose. I had mixed feelings about unibrow chick. I am the proud owner of those dinosaur PJs. Fav scene: Virgil mind-controlling/levitating/force-lifting Michael.

Anything I tried to mash in here was totally overshadowed by my obsession with this guys stupid giant dinosaur Jammie jams and my overwhelming grief over them being totally sold out online.

I wanted to like this. There's just something off about the entire thing- the characters all feel flat, none of the actors seem to have any chemistry with each other, and the plot is a jumbled mess of genre cliches that aren't executed all that well. Some enjoyable practical effects and unintentional humor aside, it was honestly a bit boring to sit through. The stuff with the rose is pretty cute, but most of what's around it doesn't quite work. Will pass 90 minutes, but that's about it.
