An inspiring and saddening account of the world's last huge, real rock band. Availability had already smothered exceptionality, so nobody followed since. When our past icons phone it in, all we're left with is the occasional phenomenon and a bunch of nostalgia. Genres come and go, and maybe loud guitar music will claim the streets again at some point, but certainly not in form of the seriously flawed, but oh so brilliant characters, that managed to get millions of people hooked for decades.

Most band docs are pretty much the same, and this is no exception. However, Foo Fighters are a pretty solid band, so it's a fun and engaging, if not particularly innovative, two hours.

A good documentary elevated by the candidness of the cast and the humor and charm of Grohl.

Interesting documentary about a band I've never really followed, even though I've always kinda liked it.

Average band, solid documentary. Still won't probably pick up a Foo album (would go see a show tho), but it's cool to find out about them through this. I think it's interesting how they go to great lengths to show how they do things on their own, recording albums in garages when it's obvious how connected they are to the big music industry machine. Guess that's the best they can do, and who can fault them really? Would love to see a similar doco about Josh Homme/QOTSA.

Nice documentary for a good band.
