This movie is about politics, which I don't care about as a subject, involves lots of talking, which I also don't care about, and I watched it in Italian (which I don't understand) with Turkish subtitles (which I barely understand). So the signs weren't good to start with - but at least Sorrentino's pictures were powerful enough to keep me interested throughout the overly long running time.

A satire of one of the most controversial personas of our age. Film is pompous, exaggerated and sometimes loses itself, but in a way that's just the way former PM is. Movie is very watchable (and not just because of dozens Italian models) and one can only marvel (in disgust and admiration, don't get me wrong) at personal assets of the Italian elite. Which is of course everything that is wrong with that behavior. Great ending of Them, the nation, on ruins of corruption, propaganda, populism.

Somewhere there is agood movie hidden under all these dull soft porn scenes, but at some point I was just too tired of Sorrentinos teenage lust, to enjoy anything.

Sorrentino's obsession with Toni Servillo and Italian politics continues with Loro, a bewildering & not overly flattering look into the nature of Berlusconi. The highlights may just be the opening scene, the introduction of the Berlusconi character into the film and the most telling scene for the script author seems like the confrontation by Silvio of the girl at the party and that interaction. Good to see a Dolce Vita reference or two in there as well.

I saw the 151-minutes version, but I'm rating the two-parts versions as well anyway.

Seen as pure satire this is often gloriously overblown cinema. (151 min. version.)

Superficially focused on sex and filth of the Italian political elite and those that aspire to join them. Maybe interesting for people living in Italy, but pretty boring for me. Great shooting scenes and music. Nothing else.
