Nasty Baby

Familiar indie drama tropes. A less than typical - and not very good - ending.

Genre-shattering & unpredictable, but also unfocused & uncomfortable.

Kinda a mess with no discernible point.

even moreso than CRYSTAL FAIRY, the third act just isn't a creative or effective way of clarifying the themes at play in the first two. it wants to be jarring and harrowing and force you to re-evaluate, but if you know silva you know it's coming and you hope it's less heavy-handed than... that. i do think he's one of the absolute best active filmmakers at the improvisational stuff of the first hour though, perfectly and intentionally straddling the line between amusing/affectionate & obnoxious.

The troubled artist was still troubled as he made this movie. Not great, not bad.Enjoyable atmosphere tho

A typical but likable film that uses this to catch you off guard when it's ending comes.
