Pay the Ghost

For those of you who thought this might be a movie about how supernatural loan sharks purchased a portion of Nic Cage's debt from beyond the grave, and are now out to collect...you'd only be half right. While Rage Cage, unfortunately, does not make an appearance, you can catch a glimpse of the elusive Guilty Father Cage, Estranged Husband Cage, Tacking Newspaper Clippings to the Wall Cage, Researching Local History on Microfiche Cage, and Hearing Voices from the Aetherial Plane Cage.

A schlocky 90s thriller 20 years too late for the party and made entirely without anything close to artistic flair. I'm sure there is a good joke linking the title to Nic Cage's career, but ... I couldn't be bothered anymore.

While Cages post 2010 work is often more mediocre than not, there are a couple gems here and there. This one might sound like it has the makings of a decent supernatural thriller, but it didn't play it's cards right, it was far too boring, I suspect that's largely because the majority of the budget went to Cage's salary, even though I doubt he can command much these days.

Knowledge of the existence of Good Nic Cage just makes it harder to watch these movies he sleepwalks through.

Everything was in focus and the actors remembered their lines. It was aggressively mediocre.

It's pretty stupid, but for what it is, it's enjoyable.

This is a badly written film. The actors sleep walk through the dreary script. Overall this is a ineffectively made horror film.

Actually not as bad as you would think. Since Nicolas Cage's demise, we haven't expected much of him. But other than the story there's nothing glaringly wrong with this production. If you've got nothing better to do you might find it worth finishing.

I have the masochistic urge of wanting to watch any movie starring Hollywood's worst actor, Nicolas Cage. He delivers as expected, without fail.
