it's really a $hit movie. Looks high budget, cinematography is pretty, but it's like the director is a newbie at filiming. Terrible.

Basically a movie about human propagation with a tiny share of tulip trade to justify the title.

Mess.

Quite uninspiring R&J-like tale set against the interesting phenomenon of tulip mania, but it barely scratches the surface of that and thus leaves the viewer none the wiser.

Disliked by the critics - liked by the audience. I'm a huge fan of Vikander so hard critic is hard to find from my point of view. *Recommendable

Terribly boring drama with some good actors

It will be remembered, if it is remembered at all, more for its comically-delayed release than for its absurd plot or pathetic grosses. It does, however, have the benefit of some excellent cinematography and production design, and the performances, while limited by the material, could've been much worse. Really, had it been a full-bore melodrama, it might've quite fun, but it's all a bit too dry and serious to achieve that.

Thought it was decent. Nothing too extraordinary, although I did like the setting and the beautiful costumes. It was an interesting intermixing of historical fiction and a love story.
