Best voice characterizations in an animated film.

Post by Stewball »

Number one, no contest for me:
Eddie Murphy as Donkey in Shrek
Then:
Robin Williams as the Genie in Aladdin
John the Cable Guy as Mater in Cars
John Ratzenberger as Mac in Cars

I'm open to sliding others I may not have thought of in there somewhere, but I don't see anyone knocking Eddie off in the top spot.

(Corrected, Robin Williams played the Genie, not Aladdin)

Peter O'Toole is Ratatouille is the first one that jumps out as someone who truly managed to create a three-dimensional, moving character through the quality of their performance.

I was just thinking recently how great Jason Alexander was in Duckman. can't think of anything else he was in.

I considered him, and his performance was exceptional, but it was a fairly minor part, and it's real impact was concentrated in his superb critique at the end. Gotta give the writers a lot of the credit there. That said, I should probably slip him into #4 above "Mack".

I've enjoyed Luq Hamet as Roger in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' (french dubbed version) since I was a kid, really embodies the wild and spontaneous demeanor of the character.

other than that:

-Billy Crystal as Mike Wazowski in 'Monster's Inc.'
-pretty much every actor in Ratatouille, notably Peter O'toole

Damn right. Can't think of better.

I also Like Joe Dimaggio (not just for Bender but Jake the Dog as well), and Brenden Small.
