Recommend some fast-paced movies?

I don't mind if they are drama, comedy, history, fantasy, action, sci-fi. Just looking for films with a fast pace and that are also directed skilfully enough that you care about what happens to the characters.

Perfect example of this for the action genre is the Bourne Identity (many action films are fast paced, but few have excellent character development at the same time). For dramas, many have great character development but few can also manage a fast pace at the same time.

Drama: Lord of War, The Truman Show, The Company
Comedy: Casanova, Some Like It Hot, Get Smart, Shaun of the Dead
Fantasy/Adventure: Jumanji, Toy Story, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

I've been gradually working my way through Jerry Bruckheimer's entire catalog, and while his films generally keep up a good pace and have very impressive cinematography, they are kind of hit and miss with the writing and characterisation. Some of his films have a PSI that is so low that I'm not sure I'll bother with them (Kangaroo Jack, for example).

I realize the fast-paced style is not particularly popular with Criticker users, many of whom prefer pacing like in There Will Be Blood, the Departed, Lost in Translation, etc. But hopefully there are a few who like a fast pace and can recommend some good ones that make you care what happens to the characters.

Also open to non-American films, as I find it's even harder to find fast-paced films once I look beyond Hollywood productions.

How about Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas or PT Anderson's Boogie Nights. I would characterize them both as reasonably fast paced.
