Innovative for it's time, noticeably dated now

You've Got Mail (1998) - Rated 19 Nov 2012
Classic romantic comedy and what the genre should always look like. Meg Ryan is a rom-com darling for a reason.

Lady and the Tramp (1955) - Rated 19 Nov 2012
Often not seen on favorite lists of movies from our childhood, but surprisingly emotionally touching and as always with Disney, beautifully animated.

The Prestige (2006) - Rated 19 Nov 2012
Chris Nolans best film to date. Imaginative, wonderfully acted and superbly scripted, this is what suspense looks like, giving the audience hints along the way but only unveiling the true surprise at the very end. Some of Christian Bale and Hugh Jackmans best work to date.

The Departed (2006) - Rated 19 Nov 2012
A well done film but I can't quite understand the overwhelming love for it. Good acting, by the books direction, fun but nothing to write home about.

Iron Man (2008) - Rated 19 Nov 2012
A super hero film done right, managing to keep a serious storyline intact while also allowing great character moments and humor and fun. Robert Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark with the right amount of wit, sarcasm , empathy and heart. It was the perfect foray into RDJ's comeback.

Tropic Thunder (2008) - Rated 19 Nov 2012
A hilarious satire on the inner workings of Hollywood and the celebrities who inhabit it. Ben Stiller wrote and shot and wonderfully smart script and Robert Downey Jr. steals the show as an absurd method actor. Inspires more laughs than not.

To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) - Rated 19 Nov 2012
A classic for a reason with Gregory Peck instilling life into the beloved character Atticus Finch.
