Just amazing - truly amazing. Faithful to the book and while a few things were omitted (even in the Director's extended cuts), I appreciate that not everybody wanted it to be longer. A fitting conclusion.

Boxing Helena (1993) - Rated 16 Jan 2022

So sooo bad. It's bad the whole way through and if you make it to the end, urgh, it somehow gets worse.

Aladdin (1992) - Rated 16 Jan 2022

A modern Disney classic. Robin Williams' Genie is the star and you need to slow things down to see the work put into animating his musical numbers. The exchanges between Freeman and Gottfried are also highly entertaining.

A Few Good Men (1992) - Rated 16 Jan 2022

Compelling court-room drama with some very familiar faces looking much younger. Interactions between lead cast members are entertainingly and keep the pace rolling.

Come and See (1985) - Rated 16 Jan 2022

On the list of films definitely worth watching - once. Clever use of cinematic devices and lingering close-ups amplify the discomfort for the viewer. A must-see for any buff of the war genre.

Blade Runner (1982) - Rated 16 Jan 2022

Not just a sci-fi masterpiece but a compelling drama that delivers both excitement and pathos in equal measure. From the grungy market trading in 'parts' to the questions on replicant 'humanity' and corporate ethics, Blade Runner takes its short-story root and accompanies it with amazing cinematography to deliver an epic masterpiece.

Amadeus (1984) - Rated 16 Jan 2022

Beautifully presented and engagingly told - I guarantee you'll want to share the 'too many notes' scene with someone you know. Amazing music provides a background to compelling drama and Forman once again delivers a piece of cinema worthy of the critical acclaim it received.

Predator (1987) - Rated 16 Jan 2022

Along with Die Hard (also McTiernan), Aliens and Robocop, this is one of the seminal action films of the 1980s. From the memorable one-liners (I ain't got time to bleed; get to the chopper) to the body-builder physiques and countless rounds of ammunition, Predator delivers everything you want in the genre. And who doesn't want to see two future State Governors in mortal combat with an other-wordly warrior?
