100 93% Back to the Future (1985) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"Nothing much to say except that this is the pinnacle of 1980s cinema, and a damn fine film, period."
60 40% Old School (2003) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"Nothing like a half-brained comedy from the likes of the "brat pack" to procure a few much-needed laughs. Silliness aside, there's some intelligence to be found within the script to compensate for the film's flaws, allowing Old School to revel in all its vulgar glory."
3% fear dot com (2002) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"An overly derivative, poorly acted piece of trash. For shame, Stephen Dorff, you're better than this (I think)."
60 40% Smiley Face (2007) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"All I can say about Smiley Face is that it's a simple-minded comedy made for simple-minded folks who, well, smoke marijuana. If you don't, there are still a few laughs to be found, but the film assuredly isn't for everyone."
70 56% The NeverEnding Story (1984) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"Had the chance to revisit this one for the first time in years, and surprisingly, it still holds up. After all, fantasy this good never gets old, even if it is indeed quite childish."
20 9% The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"No one said translating poorly written schlock to the big screen would be an easy task. This in mind, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has returned once again to slam line after line of cheesy, incongruous dialogue into our heads, along with an overabundance of unhealthy obsession, teenage angst, and oiled abs."
90 81% Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"It's always a pleasure when a romantic comedy comes along that borderline redefines the genre. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is fortunate enough to be graced with said honor, thanks to a sheer sense of originality and sidesplitting laughs from start to finish."
50 25% Hulk (2003) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"It's unfortunate how poorly Ang Lee's version of The Hulk was received, seeing as how this dislike seem to revolve more around a general misunderstanding of his approach to the character rather than a generally poor film. Granted, I didn't like it much either, but I do appreciate Lee's approach. Unfortunately, such an emotionally driven plot wasn't what audiences were expecting."
100 93% Adaptation. (2002) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"Kaufman's never ceased to amaze me, and Adaptation is no exception. Words escape me at the moment, but the film's intricately woven, ingenious plot and dynamite performances from all involved have successfully transformed it into one of the best cinematic experiences of the past decade."
80 68% Forrest Gump (1994) - Rated 04 Apr 2010
"A guilty pleasure of mine that's unfortunately been getting some negative buzz nearly 16 years after its initial release and Oscar recognition. Granted, it may glorify stupidity, and the formula may be a little too pat for some, but it's one of those films I feel the need to revisit from time to time whenever I need to feel good about something, myself included."
