Sci-Fi can often feel extremely far-fetched and lose my interest, but the science behind "The Martian" feels well-researched and real (I can only assume). For that reason, you're with Mark every step of the way, trying to solve his problems alongside him, and it makes the experience that much more rewarding.

The movie is fun enough, and while it's twist and turns won't catch you by surprise, you knew the plot really wasn't the point heading in, didn't you? The most impressive component to me was the comedic acting from Wahlberg. Pleasant surprise and is really what kept the film from going off the rails.

It's hard to reboot a franchise as important as Superman, particularly while both pleasing the core fan base and putting a twist on the story that will bring in new fans, but Snyder does a great job. Many make the mistake of comparing this film to The Dark Knight, which of course it will fall short of the bar set there, but what it should be compared to is Batman Begins. It's an origin story. The Dark Knight was SECOND in a series, and that's when you bring in the classic villain (Lex).

Fast & Furious 6 (2013) - Rated 06 Jun 2013

Pure fun, plain and simple. If you're looking for more, you're in the wrong place, but you can't hold it against the movie. It's all in the title, yet still finds a way to sneak a surprising level of sentimentality into it and will definitely leave you amped for next year's seventh installment. Just don't stand up before the credit scene. Unlike the gimmicky Marvel ones, you won't regret it here.
