Bio: While most people consider it a very low score, for me, 50 means average. Of course, I only even watch a film if I expect it to be above average.

Visually stunning, but the plot was so predictable it had no tension, for me.

Tron: Legacy (2010) - Rated 01 Jan 2011

Visually impressive but otherwise unremarkable

Four Lions (2010) - Rated 01 Jan 2011

Full of black, brilliantly worded Chris Morris humour

Kiki's Delivery Service (1989) - Rated 19 Aug 2009

Neither the best nor the worst of the Ghibli films in my opinion. The US English language version has been mutilated by the distributors inserting lines of dialogue changing poignant or ambiguous sections into happy fluffy candyfloss for US audiences that they clearly have little respect for.

Serenity (2005) - Rated 19 Aug 2009

Disappointingly average given how much I liked the series which it (prematurely) concludes.

Shaolin Soccer (2001) - Rated 19 Aug 2009

Ridiculously over-the-top, and with hilariously accented English... there are a lot of "sports team underdog comedy" movies, but for me, this one is special.

Spirited Away (2001) - Rated 19 Aug 2009

I'd choose this film to exemplarise the entire Anime genre.
