Amy Schumer: The Leather Special

I had to stew on this one for awhile, it was like when the first liberators entered Auschwitz and were just altered by the cruel harrowing display before them. This is career ending bad. It takes almost 40 minutes of the 50 odd minute run time for Schumer to get off her crotch being the star of the show and then goes into a spiel about a fan dying by being shot before seeing one of her whatevers and all I could think for that girl who would not live to see this garbage was "aw lucky".

Leather? I hardly know 'er! (That joke is funnier than this entire special.)

Boring, repetitive, self-flagellating vulgarity. Impressively awful.

Ugh. There is a certain amount of vagina jokes one can make before it comes strictly unfunny. This is the prime example of how that line can be crossed

Eh.

Pretty bad. Some of the bits have nuggets of potentially funny jokes in them, but the whole thing seems very unpolished, as if this set was never practiced or refined in any way. As a result, it is really messy in its delivery, wording, structure, and everything else.

An uneven stand-up special that, while not as bad as the internet is making it out to be, is still not very good.

Feels both uninspired and unpolished. Schumer's been working a lot, and probably lacked the focus on this special that is needed to have a great one-hour set. She turns up the vulgarity, but it seems to be for vulgarity's sake rather than any more insightful or comedic point. Pretty disappointing over all.
