First episode is a flooring portrayal of otherworldly dread/horror, and impotence in the face of insurmountable doom. Stylistic and intense... ... then it became a whiny emo wtf-is-this-even-about shonen plop.

Stopped after 2 seasons. S1 was pretty good, but after that I realized plot was moving too slow and characters were not well developed. Main character is also pretty much a dislikable brat.

An awful series that makes little sense when you start thinking about it; how is it that in a world where we have weapons that can destroy entire civilizations that these giants are a threat which can be defeated by some teenagers wielding swords? Putting that aside, I wouldn't take issue with this if the show wasn't filled to the brim with awful melodrama and pretentious storytelling which embraces multiple shounen cliches unabashedly. Hell, even the action scenes are a big pile of nothing.

S1 66. started so great then was mainly set up/stretched out/filler that never went where i think it should have. until the end it stuck to a payoff that sets up S2 lol. shoulda been 15ish eps. some melodrama might be the dub's fault

Watched up to E07. Main concept is quite promising and it could have resulted in something good, but realization is awful. Main characters are the same annoying overly emotional kids that you can see in most anime these days. It's unbearable.

This is the peak of anime considering the story and plot, the character development of multiple people throughout as well as the action, and drama that unfolds. It does the manga justice when bringing the surrounding mysteries and intricacies of the world of Attach on Titan to life. I have cried, laughed, clinched my fists, and gotten goose bumps several times. As far as an anime series goes, nothing tops this story thus far.

This is the first time in my life where the ending ruined the anime for me. Not only because it was so bad, but also cause it forced me to reevaluate everything I liked about AoT. Turns out it was all delusion. Now I actually hate the plot so much I can't even give it a good rating for the animation. Just looking at the name again makes me wanna bang my head against the wall for having any hope in the first place. Bad ideas, horrible ideology, executed like shit in a package of good animation.

I thought the 1st season was really good, but with each successive season AoT became worse and less interesting for me. As soon as the mystery around everything starts to slowly unravel in ~Season 2, everything just becomes trivial stuff that I couldn't have cared less about. The rather long finale didn't really add to my enthusiasm either, as I found these last 2 episodes absolutely terrible. For me, AoT is just a waste of time after a good start almost a decade ago!

a series composed of about half action, and half politics. the politics and plotting isn't always compelling, and the themes basically come to roost on the most obvious ie war is hell, war is cyclical and comes from fear, etc. the fights are animated pretty well.

Reached its climax in season 3, and then went in a direction that I didn't like. The potential was so high that going with the theme of war counted as an absolute setback. still, a great anime.

A good study of what it means to be human, of fear and the meaning of (individual) life, to be different, amounting to a wild extrapolation of racial tensions and the futility of individual raw power in the grand scheme of things. While the storytelling is sometimes overly complex, or stupidly simple, the overall bleak outlook on life and the theme of being born into conflict makes it worth the watch.

While the show has an interesting story and premise, AOT is a prime example of everything I hate about anime. Loud and obnoxious characters, constant whining and crying, long exposition dumps in the heat of battle. Season 1 of this is one is insufferable, and it doesn't get REALLY good until around season 3. Then it gets quite good for a while, but the ending totally ruined it for me with a ridiculous revelation and forced me to lower my score. Better than Demon Slayer, though.

Good when being tactical. Terrible everywhere else. Its numerous character arcs bring to mind the later parts of TWD where numerous episodes of filler about irrelevant characters'd follow a huge cliffhanger. The tactical parts are undermined by the typical shonen protagonist who can make the stupidest decisions imaginable then shout and gain new superpowers. The Mikasa fan service is annoying. She's cute and likes Eren, we got that in the first episode, why is she in every scene?

Fantastically animated but the first season really loses steam near the middle of it. Too many whiny characters that I have no interest in keeping track of and completely loses the tight pacing it seemed to promise at the beginning.

The setting is harrowing and the aerial fight scenes are beautifully done. The mystery of titans is engaging for a while and Eren is a nice lead character, but the story becomes too convoluted and losses steam in the second season, which made me stop. It has not one but two brilliant opening credits, the kind of stuff you need to listen to before an important sports game.

Starts extremely generic, but ends as a masterpiece. Season 3 is where the epicness reveals itself, and season 4 is where everything comes together.

Many people told me to watch this, but I didn't really like it. I quit after 8 episodes. Human eating giants have taken over the world and humanity is fighting against them. Sounds interesting? Good. That happened in episode 1... after that nearly nothing interesting happened until episode 8. No interesting character development or moral dilemma. A few kids started training to be soldiers, but they had so few lines that I couldn't remember them anyway. Honestly I felt like nothing is happening.

After seeing the first two season the impression is that I had a LOT of expectations and as any all animeor almostit has a lot of fillers with a background story. You could have made those an OVA, I am not interested. In the end, I fast forwarded a couple of episodes and I am not sure of watching the third season. If you are interested then let me tell you something, the Titans are used almost as a context... almost. Hyped. At least, although sh?nen an adult can kind of enjoy it.

This score is just the number of episodes I could force myself to watch multiplied by 10. Before revulsion totally invaded me. Very, very poor from all points of view. The idea might seem interesting, but wasn't it stolen from Romero, really?

I cannot, for the life of me, get behind the hype for this. Attack on Titan embodies every clichéd, cringeworthy anime trope to ever grace the screen. Girlchan in Paradise with a bigger budget.
