Aziz Ansari: Buried Alive

Throughout this special, Ansari relies entirely on dumb, cheap jokes and panders so hard to the lowest common denominator that it almost hurts to watch. But if you like dick jokes, laughing at white people, and funny voices you'll love this special!

Aziz is a funny guy, I've loved him since he played the racist grocer on Flight of the Conchords. The problem with this, is that about a third of the set is pretty weak and we've heard variations of these jokes done better. It's not terrible by any means and the highlights of this are definitely the ideas of marriage if it didn't exist and modern day ghosts.

Still not up there with his first special since the first and last fifteen minutes are bad, but in between it's quite funny.

Uneven quality and the topics lack clever insights on universal experiences but Aziz brings a great personality to the stage anyway.

Aziz > all other people. Isn't as strong as his last special due to a weak start but picks up strongly.

Starts out pretty weak with material about friends having kids, which must be some kind of rite of passage for comedians. His more original material after the first 25 minutes is much more solid. Still hasn't reached the heights of his first special -- Intimate Moments.

I totally appreciate the stuff Aziz says and think he's on point 99% of the time, but for some reason I don't laugh at his material as much as I'd expect to. This is still very worthwhile, though.

Funny, not his best special. feels more like a bunch of solid bits but nothing that stands out.

Aziz stand-up comedy is the kind of humor that the most people like. Nothing original or inventive or insightful.
