A lot of the bit parts are good here, but the through-line and leads just aren't interesting or funny enough.

Like a poor episode of CYE, but even that is not so terrible.

Really drags on. Would have been better as a 30 minute Curb episode.

Like an overlong, somewhat mediocre episode of Curb. But still well worth watching due to the genius that is Larry David.

It's like Curb if Curb were way less funny.

It's its own movie with its own story, and Larry David plays a character other than himself, but it's still basically his Larry David persona and the text is completely based on the Curb Your Enthusiasm brand of humor. It's funny and I recommend it, though it may have lost a little steam as it went, and I'm not sure if I liked the ending that much.

+5 points for the non-cynical ending. -5 points for making me hear the music of Chicago

Felt like a movie-length episode of Curb, and not enough time given to either Hamm or McBride

If you like Curb, you'll dig this, which is basically a bunch of Curb type banter and great cameos.

Larry David does Larry David things, except in a feature length setting. If you weren't already a fan of Curb or Seinfeld then this won't change your opinion of him. Fortunately I'm a huge fan of seinfeld, but definitely leans more towards Curb, which much like the movie I've found to be extremely hit or miss. The casting is really good and overall I found it to be enjoyable, but this style of comedy is probably better suited to the half-hour format.

This is one lousy movie! I don't understand why it got a PSI of 71... I didn't even bother watch it till the end.

Pretty, pretty funny. It's mostly a Curb episode with non-Curb characters. Not as good as that show, but still a lot to laugh at throughout.

It's like the longest and worst episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. This TV-movie proves that life is (or seems to be) full of unfair and highly contrived situations that lead to a variety of fairly amusing, but overblown (get it?) events that are often aggravating to watch. A few of the guest stars are funny, like Danny McBride.

Larry David plays Larry David in what feels - in essence, at the very least - like an overlong episode from one of the more recent series of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Towards the end you start to realise what potential the characters and story have, alas the laughs are few and far between, with too much of the improvised dialogue failing to hit the mark. It's got a pleasant atmosphere, and is almost passable, but there are just far too many flat scenes to justify a watch.

Clear History starts off strong, with an interesting premise and LD's characteristic humour. It even hints at character development when we see LD's disgraced character, now using a different name and identity, happily interacting with blue-collar residents of Martha's Vineyard. LD's reaction to the news that his nemesis will be re-entering his life is perfect - great acting. Unfortunately, the rest of the film is mediocre: lame hook, most characters lack humanity & consistency, and broad humor.

Rather bland TV comedy from the director of Superbad and Adventureland - both which I liked quite a lot. It's biggest asset is the cast which contains a lot of familiar faces and has Michael Keaton right before his comeback with "Birdman".

Watch Larry do what he does best - make bad decisions. It feels a lot like Curb so fans should have a great time

As far as TV movies go, it was a cut above most. I wouldn't have batted an eyelid if this had had theatrical release. A mildly entertaining Curb-esque romp, elevated by an excellent cast. The movie that made me realise I could watch Jon Hamm in anything.

The first twenty minutes plays like a CYE episode which I enjoyed throughly (I was happy to see anything at this point with Larry David) but slowly but surely it descended into ridiculousness. CYE, which I am sure this is meant to be a deviation from, was all about the inane and awkward, where as this felt more scripted and more contrived. The story didn't really work and neither did the star-studded cast (i.e. Kate Hudson). But if your a fan you're a fan and will still appreciate the effort.

Viewed August 10, 2013. Really funny, totally satisfied the void that Curb's hiatus has left. If you like Larry David I think you'll have to like this.

Everyone's already said so, but yeah, it really is like a feature-length episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I don't really mind because I love that show and Larry David, but it might have been nice to see him do something different. It's got some pretty funny parts, and some cringe-worthy ones, just as you'd expect from David. The rest of the cast are great too. The whole thing did become a little tired in the second half though, and ended up feeling long despite only being about 100 minutes.

Good comedy. Loved all of the many cameos (Liev Schreiber and the black guy in particular).

Larry David is WAY too insufferable to carry an entire movie... I can barely sit through one "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episode, intermittently funny though it may be. David is pretty much the least funny thing in this--except when he's being annoyed or humiliated, of course. Even Kate Hudson is funnier. Hamm's comedic abilities, on the other hand, are vastly underrated... the movie needed more of him. And... Liev Schreiber!

Pretty much an extended episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm", as Larry pretty much plays the same character here (i.e., playing himself) complete with Larry's trademark acting nuances.
