Excellent and a worthy update to Sagan's masterpiece. Still ultimately feels like a tribute however, and doesn't quite have the same poetic majesty of the original.

The overall structure of the series is excellent, I liked the way they used animations for hard-to-do live-action versions; the tidbits of information about the individual scientist here and there make it more accessible. The level of effort for the special effects is applaudable, there is something that grates me the way deGrasse Tyson talks, but all in all, as far as science documentaries go, this is pretty cool.

A monumental and mesmerizing must-see experience. Simultaneously a cosmology for our modern age, an appeal to adults to look at the world through childlike curiosity and wonder and an almost religious and poetic exploration of man's place in the universe, this sets the high-bar for what adult-orientated educational programming and popular science should be.

An entertaining tour with a likable host. Many will be turned off by man influencing our world aspects but fuck em.

What A SpaceTime Odyssey shares with A Personal Voyage is that they both evoke a sense of wonder about the universe we live in. Tyson does a wonderful job as the voice of Cosmos today. I hope to take another ride on the spaceship of the imagination soon.

Not quite as good as the original Cosmos, but still a good way to update the formula, and Neil deGrasse Tyson is a good host, although he does overact sometimes, and other times make me feel a bit sleepy. Good visuals.

Does a decent job of updating the classic series, and Neil deGrasse Tyson (though not my favorite generally) brings his passion for science in a nice way. It was problematic for me, though, in that it felt way too in love with its animations and graphics. Still worth seeing by all, though.

Maybe my favorite thing that aired on TV in 2014; an audiovisual treat with truly gorgeous special effects, yes, but even more so a treat for the brain. I was rapt at almost every episode, and loved the exploration of topics from the most infinite spans of space and the eons to the smallest molecules of earth and biology. Loved it! Only a few points off for some cheesiness in the animated scientist biographies.

Interesting, but not as effortless or as full of wonder as Sagan's Cosmos. It's oddly & irritatingly political at times. This sits uncomfortably with what should be an as objective as possible pop-science show. There are points where Tyson has to convince people that the world isn't 6000 years old & the series seems set up to be a counterargument to 'religious right'. That a science show has to be made with such intent seems insane to me, but reflects the shows country of origin no doubt. .

From the opening episode where he's talking about being "mentored" by Carl Sagan, it just feels fishy (they exchanged 2 letters, lol). I'm no scientist but my bullshit meter was hitting alarming rates. There's so many wild inaccuracies, made up crap and other fallacies that the entire show is tainted with dishonesty. It is, however, flashy and hosted by a black man so liberals will love it to seem progressive. It did give me this though: https://veuwer.com/i/3gff.gif which is the best thing ever

This documentary hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson is interesting and engaging. Most of the graphics and animation are quite good, but there is also several cartoon sequences. Exquisite scenery, and engaging conversation. It's hard to wrap your head around the vastness of time that has preceded our existence. This show helps to put that into some perspective. And it's a great homage to Carl Sagan.
